Common Issues

Bumper Replacement

If the chrome surface of your pickup truck shows signs of moderate to advanced corrosion, you might need to have it replaced. However, speak to your local dealer about the condition before having the replacement done. If your Dodge Ram is still under warranty, your dealer will make the repair at no cost to you.

Seat Replacement

Front driver/passenger seats could tear with normal usage. Installing a replacement is easy using a few simple materials; project costs should reach no more than $15 to $20. If your Dodge Ram is still under warranty, visit your local dealership to have the repairs made at no cost to you.

Windshield Washer Fluid Level Sensor Replacement

If washer fluid enters the wiring harness, you could be looking at damage to your ambient temperature sensor. See a certified automotive professional for assistance, as well as to discuss replacement options.

Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs)

The 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 has experienced a number of TSBs throughout the years, with the majority of these TSBs pertaining to faulty service equipment, poor seating, uneven steering, as well as a malfunctioning engine and electrical system.

Problems with the engine first started cropping up in early 2009. However, these issues were immediately addressed, and no new TSBs were issued for the year. In 2011, a number of components, including the aforementioned electrical system, steering and seats, received TSBs. However, many of these issues were fixed, as well. In 2012, the only component to receive a TSB was the steering system and this was due to faulty rods (an easy fix). The last TSB for the Dodge Ram 1500 was issued in 2013 and it pertained to incorrect vehicle emission control information.
