Lethal Baseline

Anyone who has driven a Viper ACR will tell you these cars are no joke. From the factory, they feature a seriously potent 645 horsepower V10 that chucks out almost equal the amount of torque. The kicker is how responsive these engines are. In day to day traffic, they feel comically fast and loud with a throttle pedal that is downright lethal if you get it wrong. Traction control best stay on, unless you have a screw loose.

Valves to Feed

Stuffing two turbos onto such a package is only going to result in massive horsepower and that’s where this particular ACR puts on the straight jacket and goes full Jack Nicholson. This car doesn't just produce more power than it did coming off the factory, it produces almost three times the power it once did when stock. At around 1,800 horsepower, the car is capable of speeds that the stock vehicle can’t touch on its best day. Remember, we're talking about one of the fastest cars Dodge have ever produced.

Watch the monster in action.

Numbers Translated to Speed

All of that horsepower means this car can hit 213mph in the standing mile which is an absurdly high trap speed for a road legal car. Yes, this car is road legal. So what do you do to a car like the ACR once you throw turbos on it? Certainly, this car must be running a trick suspension setup that is only available to factory racers for a budget only millions can afford, right? Well actually…

It’s Pretty Simple

The owner of this car has said the car is pretty much stock other than a turbo kit, sequential transmission and 9 inch rear end. According to him, it’s a real street car that is road driven on a regular basis. As far as sleepers go, this has to be one of the baddest on the planet. Imagine rolling up next to this thinking it’s just a stock ACR? There are no exterior mods that give anything away. Even the engine bay looks factory.

Scales of Performance

In terms of straight-line performance, this car is an absolute animal. How balanced it would be around a road course with stock suspension and that much of a horsepower increase is hard to say without driving it. But for its purpose, it’s a monster machine that very few cars on the planet will challenge that don’t have a parachute on their rear bumper.
