Top 7 Movies That Prove the Ram Won't Be Ignored

Here are the 7 movies the prove the Ram is nothing less than a background car.

By Donna Rodriguez - December 9, 2016
Speed (1994)
Footloose (2011)
Dante's Peak (1997)
Eight Crazy Nights (2002)
Walking Tall (2004)
Monster Trucks (2017)
Twister (1996)

7. Speed (1994)

From an outside perspective, the 1981 Dodge Ram could be seen as just a background car. But while the main focus is the movie's car chase, how can you deny that orange Ram? Besides the construction signs behind it, that truck is the only color within this scene, making it indubitably visual.

6. Footloose (2011)

While Kevin Bacon was dancing his way into your hearts in the 1984 Footloose, the Ram was rolling its way into the 2011's remake. In this car chase scene, there is no ignoring the "Dodge Ram" flashing in front of your eyes.

5. Dante's Peak (1997)

In an attempt to escape a volcanic eruption, the residents aggressively and chaotically run to their cars. Dante's Peak featured many of Dodge's vehicles, from the Charger to a Colt Vista. Yet, the two most memorable are the 1981 Ram truck and the 1994 Ram Wagon. While the videos show these two cars getting swept away by the tragedy, the movie still focused enough on it for the audience to see that they were both Rams.

4. Eight Crazy Nights (2002)

Following the life of a screw up who hates the Holidays, Eight Crazy Nights shows us that the Ram is everywhere, even in animation. The red animated Ram is seen in the movie as a snowplow. Looks like the Ram truck can be used for many things.

3. Walking Tall (2004)

So the hero drives a Ford, but nothing can get more of the attention than the badass, red, modified 2002 Ram 1500. Driven by the main henchman Booth, Kevin Durand, this truck gets seen a lot and even has its own debut moment when Dwayne Johnson's and Johnny Knoxville's characters decide to strip his truck piece by piece. 2. Monster Trucks (2017)

Monster Trucks is a family film set to release in January and with it comes to a plethora of Rams. Since Ram has a product placement agreement with Paramount Pictures, you will be seeing a lot of these trucks in the movie. Besides the dealership scene, shown in the trailer, that feature a lineup of Rams, even the bad guys are driving them. This is definitely the only movie on this list that will feature the Ram without the Dodge in front of it since it is post-breakup.

1. Twister (1996)

This is hands down the ultimate movie that shows what the Ram is capable of, or at least what the 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 is capable of. Being an integral part of Dr. Jo Harding's (Helen Hunt) weather experiment, the Ram carries around "Dorothy" and finds its way through the obstacles that the threatening twister throws at it. Sometimes shown with a shell, the Ram only proves how versatile it is. Check out the Dodge Ram escaping a twister and driving through a fire in this Twister scene.
