This 1968 Hemi Dart LO23 Super Stock is a Monster

This car was made to do just one thing: tear down a dragstrip. Considering how rare it is, it's hardly surprising that it's expected to sell for over $200,000.

Rare

This 1968 Hemi Dart LO23 Super Stock is one of just 80 built for NHRA Super Stock racing. Its rarity means that it'll take between $200,000-225,000 to get your hands on this exquisite piece of history.

Race Ready

This model was built to compete in NHRA Super Stock racing, the top current-year production class in drag racing in 1968. The last of Mopar's purpose-built packages in the 1960s were Hurst-modified Barracudas and Darts: this model represents the end of an era.

Engine

Under this Dart's hood sits the original 426 ci race Hemi engine. This powerplant uses a cross-ram intake manifold which houses offset dual Holley 4-barrel carburetors. It also uses an offset master cylinder and Hooker headers. Needless to say, this car shifts.

As Delivered

Sit behind the wheel of this beauty and you're sure to experience extreme performance levels, even by modern standards. With that in mind, it's interesting to note that the car is completely stock, so this is how it would've looked when it was delivered back in 1968.

Transmission

A good transmission is so important when it comes to laying down your power and getting off the line quickly. This model's powerplant has been paired with an A727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission and a steep rear gear set.

Light Weight

This car was purpose-built to race and this is reflected by the materials used in its production. It's been equipped with a special fibreglass hood and body fenders. It also uses light-gauge steel doors without window cranks: every ounce counts.

Beauty in Simplicity

Those of you who find beauty in simplicity will love the painted steel wheels and the fact that primer was the only paint option.

Bare Bones

This car is as bare on the inside as it looks on the outside. It has rear-seat, radio, and heater delete. It's been fitted with A100 van front seats and a Hurst floor shifter, but that's essentially it.
