A V10?

The Dodge Challenger, known for its popularity as a muscle car, has seen success with the powerful Hellcat and Demon models. In an imaginative twist, one company has transformed a V6 Challenger into a reality where it boasts a V10 engine borrowed from the Dodge Viper. This remarkable car is now available for purchase.

Out With the 3.6 in With the 8.4

Originally equipped with a 3.6-liter Pentastar engine producing a modest 300 horsepower, the vehicle underwent a dramatic transformation under the hands of Prefix Corporation. They replaced the rental-grade powertrain with the mighty 8.4-liter V10 from the fourth-generation Dodge Viper, delivering an impressive 600 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque.

Capable Drivetrain

To accommodate the new engine's capabilities, the original V6 driveline was promptly replaced. The V10 is now paired with a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a 3.92 ratio differential from a 2014 Challenger SRT-8. The car features SRT-style 20-inch wheels with Fullway HP108 tires on all four corners.

Lighter Than Hellcat

Due to the engine swap, the handling may be slightly affected, as the Viper V10 adds weight to the vehicle. Weighing approximately 650 pounds, it is still lighter than the Hellcat V8, which weighs around 875 pounds. Prefix Corporation made necessary modifications to support the new engine, including adjustable coilovers and a Wilwood big brake kit with bright red calipers for enhanced stopping power.

ACR Badging

The car boasts a distinctive appearance with a rear wing and ACR decals on the front fenders, reminiscent of the high-performance Vipers. The interior remains largely unchanged, resembling that of a basic V6 Challenger.

Up For Grabs

This unique Challenger is now available for purchase on Bring a Trailer. It comes with an accident-free Carfax report and a clean Michigan title. Interestingly, the car has a history as a rental vehicle, a role more suited to a V6 Challenger. However, after the modifications, it has become an entirely different beast. The odometer shows 7,000 miles, but the exact total mileage is uncertain. Carfax data from 2022 suggests it is likely in the mid-200s range, as it previously recorded 192,000 miles. With only a day left to bid, this crazy build might soon be headed to its new home!
