Stock Horsepower

Anyone that drives a Ram knows that their truck is deceptively fast for being a pickup. Ram 1500s roll off the assembly line in Sterling Heights, Michigan equipped with 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 powerplants that produce 395 horsepower without modifications.  The massive Hemi motor is enough to make Ford and Chevy counterparts look anemic in comparison.  Drop-in a K&N air filter for a little boost and you’re topping 400 horsepower without any mechanical add-ons.  If you take things a step further with a cold air intake or you adjust your throttle control, you’re really ready for some speeding tickets.  While a lot of truck owners want to take advantage of their vehicles’ height and opt for oversized tires and lift kits, some Ram owners like things fast and low to the ground.

Special Orders

Sherry 4x4: Lifted Trucks & Jeeps of Piqua, Ohio is a dealership that specializes in off-road modified vehicles.  While they can take your truck to new heights with a lift kit and big tires, they also offer a special service for speed lovers. In addition to their array of vehicles and services, Sherry 4x4 has teamed up with Petty’s Garage, as in THE Richard Petty aka NASCAR racing legend.  Sherry 4x4 can sell customers a brand-new Ram truck, which is already clocking serious horsepower and then put the customer in touch with Petty’s Garage.  Once the customer and Petty’s Garage work out a plan to modify the vehicle, Sherry 4x4 will ship off the truck to Petty’s garage to be converted into a bonafide muscle truck.

Horsepower Evolution

Petty’s Garage offers an introductory Ram muscle truck conversion package that gives the customer the choice of adding either a Whipple or an Edelbrock supercharger.  The truck is then fitted with a cold air intake system and a cat-back exhaust.  The Petty’s Garage team finishes off the emissions system with a set of MagnaFlow mufflers. Once the new hardware is installed, expert mechanics will fine-tune the engine and transmission resulting in a truck that can produce 550 horsepower. If you still need more juice to rocket down the road, Petty’s Garage can do a complete engine rebuild that will up the ante up to a whopping 700 plus horsepower.

Gotta Have More

If upgrades and rebuilds still aren’t cutting it, you can swap out your already kick-ass 5.7-liter Hemi and opt for a brand new 6.4-liter 392 SRT Hemi or a 6.2-liter Hellcat SRT Hemi, which delivers 485 horsepower and 475-pound foot of torque and 707 horsepower and 475-pound foot of torque respectively.  If you’ve just got to be the biggest dog on the block, you can opt for a 426 7.0-liter Hellephant SRT Hemi crate engine that produces 1,000 horsepower and 950-pound-foot of torque.  A motor like that needs a racetrack, not a road.

All the Right Stuff

Petty’s Garage will also lower the truck’s suspension and equip the vehicle with a wheels and tires package that can handle the horsepower and look very cool doing it.  They can also make changes to the vehicle’s interior and change the truck’s paint and graphics if you so wish.
