Legendary Muscle Car

We all love the original Superbirds and Daytonas. The design of these amazing cars was a breakthrough in aerodynamics at the time, and it helped take the car to legendary status in the NASCAR realm. The road-going versions of these cars were built as homologation specials. And as popular as they are now, at the time, their unusual proportions made them less desirable than other muscle cars of the era.

HPP Superbird

Love it or hate it, no one can deny the iconic personality of those beasts. The 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona and the 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird have become icons of muscle car history. And now, HPP has recreated that same look, but on a modern Dodge Challenger.

Sharp Nose and Big Wing

The Challenger is the company's only remaining 2-door muscle car, so for the sale of the visuals, the guys at HPP chose it for their Superbird retro build. And while the famous sharp nose and the outlandishly large rear wing are immediate giveaways, this build features a number of elements that tie it back to the classis muscle car.

The Details

The Challenger, powered by the 5.7-liter HEMI V8, has received a stunning Mopar Blue paint job. And the blue hue makes several appearances on the interior and under the hood, in the form of an accent color, to contrast the black. Speaking of the power plant, the Shaker pictured above is a custom part. It is not only a nod to the look of classic Mopar muscle cars, but it also serves as additional air intake, adding a reported 20 horsepower to the stock motor.

Classic Style, Modern Comfort

On the inside, the car looks practically brand-new. Almost every interior panel is finished in black, except for a few areas where the Mopar Blue accent is used. And the 2014 Challenger on which this build is based was fully loaded with options. So while you get the head-turning look that pays homage to the Superbird/Daytona, behind the wheel of this beast, you have access to all the modern amenities you need to ride in comfort.

Rare Bird

The 6-speed manual transmission is the cherry on top that completes the experience of this unique build. The modification work done on this Challenger is of the highest quality, as is apparent from the photos in the listing gallery. And with only about 2,600 miles on the clock, the car is ready to be enjoyed to the fullest extent by a new owner.
