A Rebellion on the Rise

When it comes to factory produced off-road trucks, the Ford Raptor has been hard to beat.  Now it seems that Ram is ready to disrupt the blue oval’s track record by toppling the ruling dinosaur.  The Ram Rebel TRX Concept has debuted with a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8, the same engine that powers the crazy Hellcat models.  The powerplant produces 575 horsepower, which is 125hp more than a stock Raptor.

Epic Carnivore

While the Ford Raptor drew its moniker from a particularly fast, meat-eating dinosaur, Ram is clearly laying down the gauntlet with the TRX.  So far, sources say the acronym isn’t really an acronym at all.  TRX is an on the nose reference for the big dog T-Rex, the biggest, badest carnivore of all time.  That seems like a challenge is being called out to the Raptor for sure.  Ram has already stated that the Ram Rebel TRX Concept is capable of tearing up both off-road terrain as well as the pavement.

Ready for the Kill

The Ram Rebel TRX Concept has already beat the Ford Raptor in stock horsepowerbut why stop there?  Rumors abound that the production Ram 1500 Rebel TRX will have the option of a 7.0-liter Hemi 426 cubic inch engine, codenamed the ‘Banshee.’   The interior design of the Rebel TRX Concept gives us more than a hint that these trucks are meant for speed as well as off-road terrain.  The truck’s specially designed suede seats are equipped with six-point racing harnesses for the driver and every passenger in the vehicle.

King of the Desert

The Ram Rebel TRX Concept employs a specialized link coil rear suspension system used in off-road trucks designed for desert racing.  This is a canyon runner’s dream come true and made whole if we ever saw one.  Since 2010, the Ford Raptor has been the go-to truck for someone interested in driving a route like the infamous Baja 3000 without hiring a pit crew or buying a specially modified vehicle.  However, it now looks like the TRX is planning to rule the desert with a high-revving fist.

Built like a Monster

The Ram Rebel TRX Concept looks as mean as it sounds. The truck has a sport hood with raised vents, steel bumpers and an hourglass body design.  No off-road truck would be complete without huge fender wells and the TRX has them too.  The TRX is clearly designed to take on any driving challenge and look badass doing it.  Watch out Raptor drivers, this one is a real beast.
