Hennessey Special Operations

Hennessey Performance, renowned for enhancing high-performance vehicles, introduces a new chapter with the formation of Hennessey Special Operations (HSO). This bespoke in-house department is dedicated to crafting ultra-exclusive, ultra-high-horsepower vehicles, producing only 15 to 20 units annually for the most discerning customers.

Limited Production

With an increasing demand for Hennessey vehicles, the company shifts from a high-volume tuning company to a manufacturer with assembly lines. Founder & CEO John Hennessey explains the need to allocate resources to meet the demand, leading to the creation of HSO. This shift allows for the production of mega-powerful vehicles in small, exclusive runs.

The Birth of Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo

The iconic Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 serves as the foundation for Hennessey's groundbreaking project. HSO unveils plans for the Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo, boasting a staggering 1,700 horsepower generated by a bespoke V8 with twin turbochargers. This marks a departure from Hennessey's usual approach of upgrading OEM engines.

Unique Engine

The Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo aims for an impressive quarter-mile time of 7.9 seconds at 175 mph, outpacing the stock Demon 170 by a full second. Hennessey's decision to equip the muscle car with a brand-new, specially crafted engine demonstrates a commitment to pushing boundaries and achieving unmatched performance.

Price of Exclusivity

Production of the Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo is capped at a mere 12 units, reflecting its exclusivity. Priced at approximately $200,000 for the upgrades alone, excluding the cost of the car, this hyper-powered creation targets a niche market of enthusiasts seeking unparalleled muscle car performance.

Preservation of Original Drivetrain

In a nod to the rarity of the Demon 170, HSO takes a unique approach by preserving the original drivetrain. Owners can revert their vehicles back to stock by storing the removed components in a crate, ensuring the option to experience the car's original configuration.

Documenting the Journey

Hennessey pledges to document the building process of the Demon 1700 over the next several months, with the first example being John Hennessey's personal car. With only 12 units planned for production, interested buyers are urged to inquire early to secure one of the world's most potent and exclusive muscle cars.
