Icing on the Cake
Actually, it’s more like oil on your windshield. Apparently, after the line fails you can have oil sprayed all over your windshield which turns visibility from 20/20 into a big fat zero. The result of this doesn’t really need to be explained. A crash at any speed due to this is highly plausible. As far as recalls go this is a pretty severe one.

It should also be noted that oil is extremely flammable. Oil fires in an engine can spread extremely quickly while posing a serious threat to occupants. Something like this on a public road would be devastating, to say the least, so it’s critical Dodge got these cars off the road.

Numbers Game
Over 1,200 Hellcats were affected by the defective piece and it is advised that any owners immediately look into this and have it corrected to mitigate potential hazards. Announced later this month the recall will start pulling cars off just before the last week of September. Visit recall.mopar.com if you are concerned about the safety of your vehicle.
