Slideshow: Final Dodge Demon Rolls Off The Line
Is this the end of an era or the beginning of something greater?
Legend of The Underworld
The Dodge Demon is a throwback to the golden era of muscle cars where big blocks and horsepower were all that mattered. Offered with a 6.2L V8 that utilizes factory supercharging, the car is capable of producing 840 horsepower through optional extras. All this shouting and whining amounts to a quarter mile time that embarrasses every other supercar on the planet. Literally.
Not So Limited Run
One of the great things about this car was the high production numbers. While many car companies like to limit how many cars are made, Dodge made enough Demons to survive the V8 apocalypse. Over 3,000 were created which is a lot when compared to something like the Veyron (which is slower) and only has 450 units created worldwide.
Will the Demon Be Defeated?
Will we ever see a replacement for this car? You can bet on it. With rumors of a 1,000hp mid-engine Corvette on the horizon, Dodge is going to have to step the game up yet again to pull off what cars like the Hellcat, Demon, and ACR brought to the table. It’s a new wave of supercars that isn’t cooling off just because the last one rolled off the line.
$84,995
MSRP for this tire tearing savage comes in just under $90,000 which is more than enough to lead even the biggest financial saints into temptation. Expect a decent markup, but nothing you will have to sell your soul for. Optional extras come in at just $1 each. No joke.
Don’t Doubt the Dodge
There is no need to worry about this car ending production. The Dodge Demon is more than just a cool name for a fast car: it shows the world American muscle is capable of mopping the floor with the most expensive European supercars. The Demon isn’t gone, it’s just changing into a faster form. Thanks for reading.
