Dodge has made its most potent Charger wider and added some mechanical upgrades too.

No rear tires are safe

The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. A car that can convert premium tires to tarmac drawings like no other. Hugely powerful but not hugely expensive, the SRT Hellcat is a true contemporary Dodge muscle car, bringing blown V8 power to the masses. And for the 2020 model year, you can have it in an even wider package.

Looks fast - standing still

The shape might be a classic sedan in profile and proportion, but Dodge has crafted a great volume of SRT specific details into the Charger Hellcat. How does the new widebody option figure into all of this? Well, it makes the most potent of Dodge's road-going vehicles have even more presence.

Much wider, so be mindful when hunting for a parking space

If you park the 2020 widebody SRT Hellcat next to a 2019 car, you'll immediately notice the additional width. Measured across, the widebody kit adds 3.5-inches of bodywork. And that width is not merely for styling status or parking appearance.

Bigger fenders - for wider wheels

Extended fenders never look silly on a muscle car, especially when they serve a good purpose. On the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, the widebody kit's 3.5-inch fender broadening is shaped to house larger tires. Rolling in those wheel arches are 11-inch wide tires. Because when you have 707hp available, you need all the rubber you can find, to provide traction.

Big beat

Around the rear, not much is changed with the addition of that widebody option. You still get massive exhaust tips which reverberate with the sound of a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, boasting 707hp and cranking 650lb-ft of torque. That latter engine output figure is the one which melts rear tires away with ease.

An additional aero slit

Ignore the Charger SRT Hellcat's LEDs for a moment and concentrate on where the front bumper meets the grille. If you look closely, you'll notice there is now an aero slit present, as part of the widebody package. Its function is to channel more air to that giant supercharged V8, allowing it ample volumes of oxygen for cooling.

Suspension upgrades too

The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat widebody kit does not only include exterior changes for 2020. Suspension upgrades tally more compression resistant springs, beefier sway bars, and three-setting adaptive dampers, supplied by Bilstein. Owners can also select their preferred level of power steering assistance. And behind those wheels, are huge 15.4-inch brakes, sourced from Brembo.
