1. Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack

If you're in the market for a newer performance bargain, you can't go wrong with a slightly used Challenger R/T Scat Pack. With all the hoopla surrounding the Hellcat and Demon, many folks have forgotten about the other 6.4-liter HEMI-powered Challengers. That has made them relatively cheap, with prices dipping below $30k in some cases. Heck, even new ones can be had in the low 40's. For a car packing 485 hp and capable of a 4.3-second 0-60 sprint, that's pretty darn cheap.

2. Dodge Neon SRT-4

The Neon might have been a rather forgettable economy car, but don't sleep on the legendary SRT-4. For bargain basement prices, you can pick up one of these little-turbocharged pocket rockets, which run low to mid-5 second 0-60 times and complete the quarter mile in the mid-high 13-second range in stock form. The best news? These cars have a healthy aftermarket and respond well to mods, so you can take all that money you saved and invest it in making it even faster.

3. Dodge Charger SRT8

Much like the Challenger R/T Scat Pack, the Charger SRT8 disappeared into the shadows once the Hellcat arrived on the scene. But don't sleep on its potential. Even if you opt for a 2012 model, you still get 470 hp, good enough for a low 4-second 0-60 time and a mid-12 second quarter mile run. For the current low to mid $20,000 asking price, that's a lot of performance for the money.

4. Dodge Magnum SRT8

Remember the Magnum? Dodge's attempt at a wagon proved once again that Americans, well, don't really like wagons. But unlike most, the Magnum SRT8 offered up serious performance despite that extra metal out back. Even with a curb weight well over 4,000 pounds, the hot wagon takes 5.1 seconds to reach 60 mph and completes the quarter mile in the mid 13-second range. With some clean examples going for less than ten grand, that's what we call a performance bargain.

5. Dodge Caliber SRT4

The Dodge Caliber didn't exactly sell like hotcakes, which is why it quickly went the way of the dodo. But if you can get your hands on a Caliber SRT4, it's well worth it. Nobody would ever guess that the little econobox packs a 285 hp punch, nor that will do 0-60 in 5.7 seconds or complete the quarter mile in the low 14's. And you'll feel even better about it knowing that you paid somewhere between $5,000 and $8,000 for it.
