New Ram Power Wagon comes in eye-catching color Mojave Sand with all-black wheels

So here’s what’s so special about this paint type – it was previously a super-popular choice for the Ram Rebel. But this is the first time that Mojave Sand is available on a Ram Heavy Duty truck, and Dodge is making it available only on its Power Wagon model. And to complement this eye-catching color on the already attractive looking truck, the company is outfitting the vehicle with 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac and all-black wheels.

Don’t judge this book by the cover – the Power Wagon can play too

The Ram Power Wagon is based off the specs featured in the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty 4x4 Crew Cab. That means it comes with all of the reliable, performance-driven off-road features you’d expect from a Dodge truck. This includes a suspension with two inches of lift (giving the truck a full 14-inches of clearance from the ground), a 12,000-lb winch, front and rear locking differentials, electrically-sourced disconnecting sway bar (because why not?) PLUS an all-important 410 horsepower, 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8 engine.

The new Power Wagon also has a few luxury – albeit curious – option that can be included

For those who like the finer things in life, even when it comes to their prized off-road vehicle, Dodge does offer the Power Wagon with a few extra luxury features. Among some of the highlight items worth noting are LED lighting in the bed, heated, power-fold mirrors, and a universal garage door opener.

For those who might otherwise be unfamiliar with the Ram Power Wagon

Believe it or not, the Ram Power Wagon goes allllll the way back to 1945. It was created by Dodge as a demonstration of the company’s engineering prowess and off-road capabilities. Originally, they were based on the Weapons Carrier series of Dodge 3/4–ton military trucks that were being used during World War II. They were produced continuously all through 1980 and became a fairly popular and well-known civilian vehicle. The company discontinued production till 2005 when it re-introduced it to the market. Since then, the Power Wagon brand has stood as its own independent model within the greater Ram Truck lineup.

It’s available now – but only for a limited time

Believe it or not, you can get the complete Power Wagon Mojave Sand package for just an extra $795, bringing the total for the truck up to $54,830. The catch? The package itself is only being offered in the fourth quarter of 2018. The other catch? Only 1,500 of these beasts will be built. So, if you’re interested, get down to a Dodge dealer now.
