Try pulling fuse 11 to reset the PCM and let it learn again.

i wonder if it has anything to do with the trans? not shifting right like it should , if that was the case it would bog the motor down ans cause it to die right?

Could be, but without further investigation it's hard to tell.  What if anything have you done to the car including tuning.

i actually have not done anything yet ... reckon if it was the trans it would be covered under warranty? it really irritates me though that it may be messing up with only 13 k on it!!

I understand, it's no fun when things don't go your way.  If it does it consistant enough just take it to the dealership.

I experience idle surges where the idle will jump down 50-100 rpm then back up by the same amount, is that what your calling buckjump?

I experience the same thing on my 2006 Charger Daytona.  I have about 13,000 miles as well.  It's a little strange like when I have my foot on the brake..(not pressing hard) it will ocassionally jump as if the brake slipped a little.  I also am experiencing over the last 5K miles a screaching in the right rear brake.  When it first started I took it to the dealer and they said it's normal.  Now it's loud and it seems like the brakes are not stopping smoothly like when I first bought it.  Any thoughts??

I work at a dealership and we are getting a few people in there with that problem.  I am also experiencing it with my charger.  It makes me mad, but for right now they dont have any fix becuse "chrysler" is telling us they dont know whats causing it.

I'll post more when i hear more

Thank you for responding...is there a way to get it to happen when I take a Dealer rep for a ride?  Yesterday I took it in because of noisy brakes and they are going to replace the rotors and pads...I thought that was cool how they didn't let me hang on that one too long.  Thanks again and please post updates if you get the word.

Tim

yeah my dealership told me that chrysler knew about it , but they dont know whats causing it or anything yet , which is aggrevating. especially on a brand new 35k car . i just hope they find out what it is and they say  well give you a brand new 6.1 hemi motor for free haha thatd be great .

I think I've isolated the problem...today I went for a highway drive for about 10 mins.  My speed varried from 55 - 75...then took an exit.  I then stopped at a red light looked at my RPMs which read about 600 then about one second later it felt like the brake clutch...(if there is such a thing) engaged the car bucked and the RPMs jumped to about 750 or so...then the car idled normally.  It's acted almost like a car would act if you put it in drive and held the brake down...kind of like the engine was still working to move the vehilce and then you place it in park and the engine relaxes and the idle returns to normal.  I don't know much about transmissions or how a car automaticly goes into a sort of netural when you are stopped completely but I think what ever device causes this is defective.  I know this is slightly incorherent, but can anyone understand what I trying to say???

Have you tried any drygas, the isopropyl is the best.  I used to work in a GM stealership and half of all the drivability issues we used to see were caused by bad gas.  For some reason one car is more affected by it than others.  I have a ram pickup that is really touchy.  It can act like a transmission problem and only seldom sets a code, if it does it is usually a misfire or injector code.  It's the first place I always start when having an engine miss or stall.  Good luck.  PS most dealerships won't try this, not sure why, might put them out of business. 3 bucks for drygas vs hundreds for a new pcm and injectors.

My 06 R/T will surge once in a while - sometimes kind of strong - but never seems to last or do it several times in succession.  I'm almost wondering about a problem with the torque converters.  We'll have to keep an eye on this deal.  I'm drawing a blank right now and can't remember how many miles I have on it; I'll have to check tonight.
