Default Switched Positive Wire

Does anyone know which wire would begoodto tap into for an amplifier voltage sense / on/off lead? preferably one that would turn off when the radio is turned off..

I tried tapping into the red lead on the Mygig primary radio plug which was showing 12V with the ignition on and 0V when off on my multimeter but apparently I missed something cause my amp is on all the time so its clearly passing voltage to the amp and I really don't want to start going nuts with testing all the wires in the car without a clue.

I was considering the #7 pin which I believe is the antenna power lead but I really don't want to starttapping intomore wires without knowing..

Just a ignition switched wire would be acceptable, preferably somewhere by the radio or driver side dash.

Thanks

eh, screw it.. Im just gonna run it to the switched lighter + wire.. It essentially shuts down when the radio does and will stay on until the door is opened just like the radio.

By the way.. for anyone that didnt know and would want this feature,Your dealer can change your primary lighter to stay on all the time instead of shutting off when the ignition is turned off.

In reply to myself

Just wanted to let anyone know who is looking for a switched + wire for their amp on/off lead or other accessories that the Red lighter wire worked out awsome and is a good place to tap into.

If you are planning on putting a high amperage accessory other than an amp on/off lead on that line I would recommend using a relay.

If you find yourself replying to your own posts... you need to take a break from the inter-web. LOL
