Default looking at buying a RC

I am wanting somthing with the removable top. I have had several Jeep Wranglers and really like the open top ride for summer. I m lloking to go full size for the extra room.. I had a sweet 74 scout II but it was to gard to find parts for it so I sold it. How hard is it to get parts for the 74 to 80 RC's? The only other truck I am considering is the Jimmy or Blazer, and hell you can just about go anywhere and get parts for them. But I really like the look of the RC's. Im really trying to find out all I can so I dont have another parts shortage like the scout. Also what sould I stay away from option wise? Is there a certain transmission ot t case I should look out for. What about lift kits are they as common as the older leaf sprung GM trucks?

Thanks

Default RE: looking at buying a RC

depends on your location if you live in TX you can find plenty (right next to Mexico), somewhere else, they'll prob. be a little more scarse.K-5 or Jimmy is defietly more common. Parts are pretty simple to interchange with any other RC or dodge truck of the same generation or similar. Lift kits on a 4x4 model are just spings and blocks, pretty easy. I'd get a newer Aerican version with a Magnum engine, easier to work with than the LA's. If it's off road only, take a trip to Mexico and there every where.
