Default Aero Muffler question

Hey all, I have a dumb question for you guys. I want to put an aero turbine muffler on my 06 quad cab diesel with the 5.9 but i'm unsure how it would go on. I noticed the stock muffler's inlet is lower than the outlet and the exhaust shops in my area can't bend 4" pipe. So my question is this, how do they fab the new muffler to fit? Do they just angle it or something, i'm quite unsure. I'd like to get this stuff figured out before I look dumb going into the muffler shop. Any help is appreciated.

if you have a 5.9 motor, replace it where the cat is. it should be a 4040 with a 4"in/out and will weld in where the cat used to be. if it's the 6.7, put it where the stock muffler is.

I have been thinking about doing this in the future myself. Steve are you saying on a 5.9 replace the cat with the Aero and leave the stock muffler or replace the cat with the Aero and delete the muffler?

I used the aero behind the cat, then used a muffler delete. It isnt quite as loud as a like it to be, but once you put a load on it then it starts to roar.

You feel any performance change by swapping the muffler for an Aero?

Nothing drastic, I think I would go the cheap way with just a muffler delete

my setup is a aero where the cat was and a 30" magnaflow where the stock muffler was. the original poster was asking where to put it on his. I missed that he mentioned he has a 5.9 soI'd recommend putting the aero where the cat is and doing the muffler delete or leaving the stock one on there depending on what your after... I like the free flowing magnaflow, zero restriction, sounds awesome. the aero adds just a touch of backpressurewhich I think helps spool the turbo better. mileage goes up approx 1~1.25 mpg with the aero when compared to without (just the 30" mag w/o aero)

I didn't notice any increase in mileage, but the truck definately sounds a helluva lot better !! I removed my cat and I installed my Aero back where the stock muffler was. As many here already know, I love my Aero !!

Has anyone gone with the muffler delete, cat on and resonator on?

I want to leave the cat on for warranty, get rid of the muffler but don't want that droning when I tow.

Suggestions??

I left my cat in place and replaced the muffler with the kit in my sig. It costs about $170 and it has all the factory hangers and the bent pipe ready to bolt in. It has decent manners when going easy and talks pretty good when hammering it. I tow every weekend and my wife has not complained about any noise. Sometimes cheaper is better.
