I'm looking to install the $20 occ on my 04 srt and have read the 'how to' on srtforum.com's site. I was a little confused on how exactly to go about it since in the diagram it looks like it runs from the crankcase valve to somewhere in the back of the engine. Or is it just being connected back onto the stock hose that runs to the intake manifold? Also, I've read generic sites on occ's and people talk about oil being in their intercooler, but it looks like the hose connects to the intake downstream of the intercooler on the srt. Is this right? A little help please.
Also, have any warranty issues popped up after installing the occ?

This is on the PCV side. I'm pretty sure you wanna put one on that side, unless you have a CAI. Its been talked about that the PCV side will dump alot more. Once you get a CAI the crankcase side could use one then, but still wouldnt dump as much oil.
ghetto cc's are not better than real ones. they don't catch as much oil, require much more frequent cleaning, you have to maintain them, and in at least 2 cars that i've dealt with were a major source of boost leaks. i'll take my greddy over the $20 any day.....

Yup, and even more oil gets "blown by" if you put on Stage 1...either that or the Amsoil is slicker than snot....

this is one area PSI Chick and myself disagree... but whatever you decide, an oil catch can (either the "cheap" one or a "name brand") is better than not having one... you'll be amazed how much oil is getting by after you put one on!!!

hey to each their own. i just don't believe in skimping on things that could potentially cause an issue down the road. it's not worth it to me. also it's worth it to me to ensure that all the oil that can be caught is. i don't want my tb getting all gunked up because i forgot to empty my cc one week. i'd rather spend the money and do something right. i've seen too many problems with those cheap catch cans. people thought that they were saving money, and in the end they bought the "real" ones anyway after issues arose.
