Take out the radiator, the driverside tire and the cover underneath that protecs the engine. Google search it and it has a complete directions and photos

I was able to remove my alternator without removing the radiator. I just removed the fan on that side. I'd place a piece of cardboard against the radiator so you don't bang up the fins. It takes some manuevering, but it can be done. Everything else T4 said is pretty much right on. Remove the wheel, the plastic cladding, and start unbolting stuff.
