Like the title says I might pick up an Intrepid that was offered to me but im not sure what to watch for with these things,. Im new to the Intrepid platform.
Ive already test drove the car and it ran and drove like new, Very smooth shifts, no weird noises. Motor was quite and ran great.
I heard that the trannys in these things can be a pain and not last the longest but does that reffer to all Intrpids or just some years/models?
What else so i look at when i check the car out again?
Thansk in advance for the help guys/gals

Heres some details on the car:
148686 miles
3.3 Motor
Automatic with overdrive
The car has one downfall, A/C does not work (evap needs replacing)
Has newer directional tires on it, steel wheels
VERY CLEAN cloth interior grayish type color, no rips, no cig burns.
The car is smoke free and pet free
The front and rear bumpers had been repainted due to paint chips
No rust, very clean body, one small crease on the body (right rear corner panel)
Tranny fluid and filter just changed
Oil and other stuff about a month ago.

I personally wouldnt buy it unless it is extremely cheap. These cars have tons of tranny issues. My 94 es has a bad tranny and the head gasket blew destroying the internals. i am in the process of an engine swap now so i can get rid of the thing. Just be careful and be ready to spend money. my car only has 119,000 miles on the clock with basic maintenance done regularly.

my bro bought a 1996 and was very happy until the oil stopped going nito the motor cuz the valves were shot....then it was running off 5 cyl. so he got a new motor and has loved it ever since, no problems. it is a big vehicle and has massive tires on it so slowing down isnt the greatest but it has amazing traction. overall he has enjoyed having the car
