Does a 1994 Eagle Vision TSI have an interference motor? - 8/29/2007 6:36:25 PM    DrDeath2099   Posts: 1 Joined: 8/29/2007 Status: offline I'm really racking my brain here.  My brother was driving my mom's 94 vision doing about 25-30 MPH when the vehicle suddenly died.  He was able to pull into a parking lot before it stopped.  He attempted to restart it with no success.  Later that day, we were checking it out and sure enough the timing chain was broken.  We were going to just replace it, but the guy @ Autozone said that it's an interference engine and that all of the valves are shot now.  He wanted to buy the transmission off us, which made us a little suspicious.  My brother talked with a mechanic friend and he said it doesn't have an interference engine and that it wouldn't be too hard to getting it up and running again.  I checked around online and I'm finding the same results.  Some people say it is an interference motor and other's say it isn't.  Is there a way to tell without having to rip the whole engine apart?  Any help you can throw my way would be appreciated.  Thanks guys!
