Anyone else experience issues with the A/C on an '04.5 CTD?  I turn on the A/C and the two vents on the driver side are freezing cold, but the air coming out of the two passenger side vents are barely cool at all.  I've switched the vent settings to normal and recirculate and it does function.  Haven't noticed any issues with the vent failing to work properly other than the temps of the passenger side air (and now I know why my passengers are complaining the A/C sucks in my truck).

And a bit off topic here...will 33" or 35" tires fit on the stock wheels...and will the truck clear them?

They should all be fine with as new as your truck is, but have you checked for any cracked vacuum lines

stock. . .the truck will be ok with 33's. 35's may rub a bit. with a leveling kit 35's will fit nicely

with the A/C. your blend door has broken. not an easy fix since you have to remove the entire dash to got to it.

What can cause this, especially on a truck so new...............excessive changing from panel to floor?

If the blend door is broken, wouldn't switching from recirculation to normal not work either?  That works fine as well as changing temps.  There are no odd sounds or rattling when things are switched all around.

I never change form dash to floor or even use the mixed setting, it always has remained on the dash vent setting only.

The fact is, it could have been that way since day one, I've never noticed it until a couple friends commented on the warm air on passenger side with the A/C on (and that was only recently).

Bugger....figures it's going to be a dash issue.  I love working on engines and all that, but I absolutely abhor electrical issues and anything that requires removal of the entire dash....(stereo installs I can deal with though...just as long as I don't have to remove the entire dang dash).

Tires...a 2" leveling kit great.  What about adding 2" blocks under the rear too?  Personally I like the slightly forward tilted look.  I hate when a truck sags in the back.  Will 2" blocks in the back cause any weirdness in the suspension or create severe axle wrap?

My beamer used to do this but I added some 134a and now both sides work perfect. In the beamer my passenger side was actually kinda warm (not even cool), but the driver's side has always blown ice cold.

one section of the armature from the actuator that controlls the possition of the blend door is a bit thin and will brake. I change mine all the time from defrost to recirculation and have yet to have an issue.

actually according to my dodge guy, its the way the condensing coil is mounted.  the flow goes vertical starting driver side and then moves up and down until it gets to the passenger side and therefore the air blowing over it is not going to be as cool since the passenger side of the coil has cooled about 10degrees in that movement.  dodge was supposed to reposition the coil so it goes horizontal, left to right so the passenger side of coil is just about as cool.  I just got an 2008 and the air is cold on both sides, but the passenger is still a little warmner than driver but I dont think 10 degrees.  Im a newby but learning alot about these dodge problems.  had fords in past with no issues.  1st diesel though.  this air so far is freezing me out in vegas, I have to turn it down after 5-10 minutes of driving

I've had the same problem....I just posted this:

I have a 2003 Dodge turbo diesel 2500....I have owned the truck since Sept 2003 and about a year later I started having problems with the A/C.  It doesn't cool, feels like its blowing air that is about 70-75 degrees F., (which doesn't help if it's 90+ outside).  It also blows the air out of the front vents at different pressure, the driver side two vents are normal, strong force on high, but the passenger side three vents blow like it's on low to medium setting when it is actually set on high.  I have taken the truck into dodge (where I purchased it) at least twice a year since 2004 and they keep telling me the air pressure difference is normal on diesel's and that I just need refrigerant added.  It works properly for about a month after it's serviced but then re-occurs; the fan/blower pressure has never worked satisfactorily.......HELP!!!!....
My dodge guy told me the same stuff about the vertical flow too, but I kinda get the feeling it would be a warranty issue and they just don't want to pull the dash off to fix the blend door.  It would cost them a bundle, and the service advisors give the tech's the OK to do certain repairs or not.

My 05 laramie did the same thing when I took it in they fixed it in no time and they said that it needed recalibrated? Whatever that meant- but it only took them an hour to fix.

My '02 1500 had the same issue.  Added some 134 but didn't help.  Never did get it fixed, but the Yeti's works great so oh well on the '02.

Get used to it.  Dodge's have the worst AC out of anyone anywhere.  I've had mine in the shop 4 times for it, got it recalibrated, got the blend door fixed, got it recharged, still doesn't work worth a crap.  Better off to roll the windows down and stick your head out
