I belive the motor mouts are the same. you will need the entire engine and transmissin and wiring system. The v6 came with a different tranny. get the tranny and computer wires injectors everything under the hood. I belive the connector to the interer cab is the same for v8s and 6s. it should be just under the under the hood stuff. GOOD LUCK! Let us know how it went.

If the 1/2 ton was a v8 it could handle the power. I think the v6 and v8 had differnt sycros and other parts. I think the dakota transmition is shorter then the full size but I could be wrong. you might need a shorter driveshaft. you might also check into the spines on the driveshaft i don know if there the same. if yours is auto dont forget the clutch pedal and all the linkages you would need to make it work.

my v6 is a manual so all the clutch pedeal and linkages should bolt up to a v8 trans right?? so all i need is the motor which the mounts should work cuz i have adonor truck and a computer for the v8 and manual trans for a v8 along with the V8 which i have but it would need to be rebuilt

You can bolt up all of the V6 stuff to a 5.2 as long as your not hammerin on it the trans will be fine. You will need the computor out of a 5.2 truck and your injector harness and the V8 trucks had a shorter fan shroud. The exhaust and everything else should bolt up the same.Good luck.
