Hey Guys- Have an 06 R/T. Actually it's my wifes! More than once while driving around town we have inadvertantly hit the shifter. I tried searching the forum. Is there a way to disable the slapshifter? If so how and is it easily toggled? Thanks in advance.

Hold it to the right for about 5 seconds and it will go back to normal shifting.

Hey Big Paul, I haven't seen your posts yet so I better say hello and welcome to the forum.

07RTRTCharger is right, you bump into autoshift by pressing to one side or the other and the reverse (bump to one side or the other and hold it for a couple seconds) to bump out of autostick.

You actually only need to hold it to the right for like one second and it will go back to normal.

Maybe I am reading the post wrong, but it seems like the problem is that they accidently bump it at times and they are looking for a way to disable the auto stick feature so that an accidental bumping will not put it in auto stick mode.

I am not aware of a way to disable/enable auto stick.  Maybe the dealer can do something thru the computers programming.

Your probably right Bigfoot68 and right again there isn't a way to disable it that I know of.

Your right Bigfoot. I want to DISABLE the feature if possible. Anybody know? I know it's cool to have but for the daily around town driving my wife usually does, it can be trouble. Thanks again guys. Please let me know if you hear something.

Big Paul,
Yes, first, welcome aboard!

You should have bought the Police package -- the shifter is on the column... LOL.

I have read many posts, but don't remember a disable feature.  Would Superchips do this at all??

Good luck.

I am guessing that it is electronic like everything else, can it be unplugged?  It's probably a simple switch, then again nothing is simple on this car.  Maybe a tech guy knows.

Superchips will change the way the shifter works but will not disable it.  FYI
