another problem with my 94 LHS. when i hit bumps, the steering wheel jumps up and down terribly. seems like the steering column doesn't have enough bracing. smooth road-smooth steering, bumpy road-steering wheel jumping up and down. is this a common problem? is there a fix? thanks for any help

i know i can't be the only one that has noticed this. i used to ride to work with a guy that owned a concorde that did this. my dad's 96 intrepid doesn't do this. anybody?

The only thing that I can think of is that maybe the rack unit is loose and is moving up and down when you hit a bump? Put the car up on ramps and get under it with a prybar and see it you can lift the rack.

i'll try that. it almost acts like there needs to be another brace on the column closer to the firewall, but i dunno. i'll tear the lower dash cover off this weekend to see what's going on in there and check the rack also, thanks!
