Well, I am runnning Borla aggressive exhaust, superchips, K&N CAI, and Hood struts (sorry..... had to throw that in there it's a great mod). By bumping the speed limiter up to 200 just to be sure and getting on it, realistically where do you suspect the car will stop pulling. I have no place I know of to run this baby and I gotta know what my top end may be approx. Mostly for bragging rights! In my younger days I'd hit the highway late at night and take my chances but I am too old for that now. Just looking for best guess or someone's personnal best, I find 172 hard to believe without major mods.

Here is the post by meister 03-18-2006, 11:54 AM (updated by him on 3/25/06). Believe it or not, I happen to believe. quote:
Update 3/25 - Yup, had to go to the well one more time. With the speedo error corrected by SC I was wishing for an actual speed shot, not a corrected one. So I verified yesterday that my Stage II Jet Chip, working seamlessly in conjuction with my sc tuner, removed all indications of an over-lean condition (what's this black stuff doing back in my tail pipes? ) and planned an early run for today. First run, with Super Chip added, was flawless. Strong pull to 160 in fourth with no lean stumble, flawless pull to 172 in 5th gear. Second run, minus Super Chip, was as before. Notable lean flutter, especially at speeds above 140 where my huge air filter and very effective ram air system are really cramming the air to her. Took nearly a mile longer to attain 172 mph, but she did it. Just barely though - had to tap brake for an easy sweeper just after snapping the shot. So I'm more than ready for the sc fuel mapping to get richened up a bit for my particular vehicle, which, admittedly, is unique. PS Note the cool coolant temp - right around 184 degrees. Update 3/20 - My curiosity couldn't stand it - I knew my car had sufficient huevos to attain a higher top end in 5th gear than in 4th. Just got back from verifying that to be true - 166 mph indicated, which should be a little over 170 mph actual, given the sc tuner's known tire size glitch. I am now satisfied to rest on my sweet C's accomplishments. For the time being at least. Note: Camera glitch or operator error caused the 166 indicated to not be recorded. So I made another pass (shorter run) and caught 165 indicated on film. One can choose to believe the 166 mph or not, but it was real. With a half dozen valid camera trigger pushes to show for it. ===================== This morning, at precisely 7:46 am at a secret, undisclosed, location, I attained my nearly two-year-old goal of exceeding 160 mph in a mostly-stock 5.7L LX Hemi. She topped out at a nicely balanced 161 mph indicated. Then repeated the feat, precisely, in the opposite direction, to make the speed official. All duly documented. She was totally stable at that speed, helped no doubt by FreebirdSRT's spoiler, newly painted Cool Vanilla and proudly gracing the rear deck lid. Thanks, buddy. :) An all-new suspension (KW V2 coilovers and Hotchkis Sport anti-sway bars front and rear) provided the greatly enhanced damping, lower stance, and increased rake necessary to ensure stability at that elevated speed. New Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s kept us within rated tire speeds. The superchips tuner provided the one missing link - the ability to make the speed limiter go away. Edit - Disclaimer: This run was the culmination of two years of thought and careful, methodical, preparation. I would caution anyone against rash attempts at high speeds without the proper experience, equipment, and a proper location for the attempt. The latter will be more difficult than the former two - outright impossible for many, if not most. My recent ground speed of approx 165.174 mph is nowhere near my personal record of 1403.951 mph. I take my daily preflight of my 300C as seriously as I do the preflight of any aircraft. Despite having in my hands the tool that would immediately enable the attaining of a two-year-long personal goal I took the time to insure that my car was mechanically perfect and up to the heightened demands I would be making upon her. I put my sweet C on a hoist for the better part of an hour the day prior to my run going through the entire undercarriage bit by bit. I double-reinforced my front fender well inserts against the anticipated increased dynamic pressures, even replaced two fasteners in my right front stone guard that weren't sufficiently snug to pass inspection. I triple checked all fluid levels and tire pressures. I carefully checked tire condition (they had less than a hundred miles on them, but one can not be too careful). Tire pressure was re-checked, on location, immediately prior to my run. Longer-term prep for the speed run involved the following: 1. The entire stock suspension system was replaced prior to the run. I installed and proof-tested a KW V2 coilover performance suspension system and Hotchkis Sport anti-sway bars, with special attention paid to proper alignment and the setting of a full 1/2" of rake for increased high speed stability. The resultant much lower ride height further contributed to both increased speed and increased stability at speed. 2. Obtaining, painting & installing an actual SRT8 spoiler (thanks to FreebirdSRT :) ), both DCX wind-tunnel and real-life tested to higher speeds than I would be attempting. 3. Installing and testing, re-torqueing lug nuts for, etc., new W-rated GY F1 GS D3s, rated by Car and Driver as the World's Finest All-Around Ultra High Performance Tire. In short, both my car and I were fully up to the task, and a suitable location was available. <edit> Went through and highlight the pertinent information in the quote for this thread

The 07 R/T I test drove hit 140 before I knew it. I thought i was goin closer to 100-110 till I glanced down. That little glance was enough to cause me to nudge the wheel just a little. It was bad enough I'll never get one that fast again on stock suspension even on the salt flats.

I know 130 mph up a 6% Interstate grade was no problem and car was still pulling hard, only took a about half a mile to go from 70 up to 130.

I have a 06 Charger R/T and it is limited to 127... Depressing. I have raced a few people and I stop like I hit a wall at 127.

I have had my Charger 148Mph once and it still wanted more, but it was getting way to fast for me.

I heard it was 140, but I just got a Predator and with that you can bump it up to 190. I've had mine up to 127, but I can't imagine going more than 150 in it...that is really hauling A$$!
