Ah yes, for fun I keep with the mods face offs on that LX forum <= Edited to keep organizations identities secret... sorry admins

I also quibble on the fans and keeping the dyno runs equivalent (<= identical conditions).   It isn't perfect but it's as close as it can get given the resources available.  I like to use those number as a wind gauge not as absolute fact.

<edit> Don't take me wrong, I'm not knocking the effort put fourth by those peope involved. I'm sure it takes a lot of time and money to stage and manage all the testing that is done. They deserve all the props they get and more.

Yesterday I went to Kragen to find the K&N air filter but they didn't have it, anyway, the guy that was helping said if I get this, when it comes time to get it smoged, he said I would have to take out the filter before I get it done. Anyone heard of this?

Oh bro your in CA... right?

That’s probably right, here in TX their liberal on emissions testing compared to CA.

Just keep the OEM equipment you take off (Put the OEM filter in a zippy bag to keep it clean) and put it on when inspection time rolls around.

Yeah I'm in CA. So I decided to go with the K&N CAI 63 series from that stripper web site, it was cheaper than all the other ones, and I think they'll all pretty much be the same. Thanks for all the help and info!

I agree the web site format isn't anthing I would recommend  but the Reverend Hammer has a good product.  E-mail  hammerautomotive@hotmail.com and I'm sure they will give you all the information you care to have. If you get a better link from them post it up.

I was looking at the web-site you posted Mango but I had a hell of a time trying to find where to find where to buy the CAI, sorry. And I got all my information abou the k&n from their own wed-site and from asking on the form and from reading old treahds, and it seemed like most folks just had the k&n 63 series anyway.

At the advice of HemiPowerSRT I ordered a AFE Stage 2 from Promotion Tuning last week.  Got it installed this morning and I'm very pleased.  Quality looks excellent, performance gain is very noticeable!, and it looks good.  Service from Promotion Tuning was top notch, it came very quickly, was installed quickly, properly, and cleanly, and at a good and fair price.  I'd recommend highly, that route
