that charger in the ride of the month on page five has a sick hood. how do you think it would look on our trucks? or should we wait until a better cowl hood comes out, if ever

THat's like the Viper hood for the Gen II's.  They're a bit smaller than that one, but they do look great on our trucks.

They do make those STS hoods for the dakota like the Picture above on the Charger but made for the Dakota......Here is the website...ordered mine today!

http://www.carhoods.com/

just find where it says Dakota- 05-07 but to see the picture of what the hood looks like you have to look under 00-07 dodge trucks but if ordering you have to order it under Dakota 05-07

wtf is composite. is it like the press board that they make plywood out of? or is it fiberglass? i would rather have a steel hood. then some flimsy piece of card board.

its as close to carbon fiber as you can get without using actual C.F...  its a way to make fiberglass stronger in flat areas. (where its weakest.)

I wouldn't be surprised it they use metal mesh in the middle of those hoods...

My '04 Tbird has composite hood trunk and front fenders. It works great, the car was in a hailstorm in Texas while new on the lot. The rear fender , windshield frame and driver door got baseball size dents but the composite was fine!

So would you guess it to be lighter or heavier than the stock hoods?

how would you go about painting it? if it is a special composite then it might cost and arm and a leg to color match the truck

i was just on my other site and a ram owner just received his composite hood went to the local shop and they wanted to charge 600.00 to prep and paint the hood. and it was off the truck. does this sound correct for composite? if so you can forget about me purchasing one. i would be better off getting a scoop and pop riveting on.
