View Full Version : a little help please
kinglacey 07-18-2007, 01:23 AM alright i just got my first car, a 1990 dodge daytona ES with the 3.0 V6. shes finally running good and i was looking to add a little horse power and have seen some stuff online about replacing the air box with the k & n cone filter from a 5 liter mustang and was wondering if anyone knows if this really helps and if it does how would i go about doing the swap. if anyone can help that would be great.
thanks
bmxerkev 07-18-2007, 01:50 AM well im not to sure about that mustang filter thing but i have the same car and before i made a custom air intake pipe i just put the cone filter at the end of the stock (rubber) pipe and just took the air box out .. some people call it ram air because it isnt gettin mych cold air but it works untell u get a diff pipe
kinglacey 07-18-2007, 10:27 AM alright i see what your saying thank you. now when i take off the air box what should i do about the hose connected to the crank case vent? do i just plug it orlet it hang or is the something special i need to do?
thanks for the help
bmxerkev 07-18-2007, 10:39 AM well for that i just have it plugged .. ya it makes your check engin light come on but thats not a big deal... for my stom pipe i got made it takes the place of even the air scoop right beside your batt and goes down to the hole (vent) in front bumper ...and in my eyes a daytona is to good to have something from a mustang in it ... buttry that and see howyou like it ..... goodluck
bmxerkev 07-18-2007, 10:45 AM oops sorry i ld u i have it plugged .. i do but it has a little filter plugged on the end of that hose..ill try and fnd my dig cam and take a pic to post here .... good luck

bansheenut420 07-21-2007, 01:08 AM Best source for cheap, easy N/A mods is http://www.turbododge.com/forums/f69/The section is called turbo 3.0, but there is lots of people who are modding their 3.0 cars with great success!
shelbydaytona91 07-22-2007, 07:25 PM As for the crackcase vent, I would highly recomend getting a generic aftermarket filter for it, if you just plug it it will let pressure build up inside the engine (not very good!). http://www.forwardmotioninc.com/html/catalog/page12.html
