My wife has decided that she need a Charger. I would love to buy her one except for that we have a 9 month old baby. Does anyone that owns a Charger have kids and can tell what they think of the car.Also if anyone else has any pros or cons I would like to hear them to.
I traded in my MB C230 to buy my R/T. My kids (both 10) and wife love the car. When I ask them which one they like better, they say the Charger no question. They likemore room, softer leather (some of us have different tastes than others), better ride, looks cool, better stereo, etc. The car would be excellent for you. There are tethers for child seats in the back, a lock for the windows so they can't open them from the rear, and locks for the doors that prevent the doors from being opened unless the driver power unlocks them (drives my kids crazy!). Also the size is right for getting infant seats in and out, which can be painful in a small car. Only thing they find strangeis that they have a hard time seeing out of it due to the high beltline of the doors. You can even get a rear seat DVD to entertain him/her. However, I prefer the sound of Hemi! Well, I should also mention that my daughter doesn't like getting pushedback into the seat on acceleration, but she'll outgrow it I'm sure!
Yes you do, had mine for over a year and a half and still love it. My wife and daughter love it as well. Big backseat for the little ones and lots of saftey stuff to make sure she grows old. Traction control and stability control make it real hard to get this car out of shape even with all that hemi power. My mileage ranges between 20 and 26 depending on how heavy my foot is and traffic, and that is in the mountains of PA.

The Charger is a big car, which equals safety. It has numberous awards including Kiplinger's First In Safety, and their Best New Car,Parent's (magazine) AAA's Best Cars for Families, and the government crash test's highest 5-star ranking for frontal impact accidents. Even has three "crumple zones". The car is heavy at 4,100 pounds (built like a tank) and has a traction control system that keeps the car straight (you go into a corner too fast and the computer will try to keep the car level and apply opposite braking to keep it stable) and ABSthat stops it straight (a huge advantage to keep the car from slidding sideways). It also has an option forextra air bags in the headliner areas, and it now even comes with four wheel drive, er, all traction drive. Consumer Reports also rated it highest in acceleration, and very good in accident avoidance and comfort/convenience.
In all the years Iwas an EMT and deputy sheriff and all theunfortuneate andhorrific accidents I've gone to, the thing that stands out in my mind as toone of the reasonsmost people survived an accident was carsize, seat belt useage, and air bags. There are certainly other contributing factors, but for me, massalone is a safety factor.
I could go on and on about the car: looks, performance, good paint, good fit and finish, great seats and ride, comfort, solid brakes, and MPG! Heck, mine gets over 25 MPG at 70 MPH with three big adults and a trunk full of luggage.
Is there a big difference between the Charger and the Chrysler 300 or is it just the name. I like the Charger better but I would like to know the difference.
You will benefit from the room that the Charger has to offer. If your needing the room (i.e. car seat/family) or prefer the extra roominess it’s a good choice. It's a perfect family sedan with an extra punch of performance if you get the 5.7 or 6.1.
The 300 isn’t much different. The Charger 300 and Magnum are built on the LX platform. The frame, suspension, brakes, engine & power train are virtually identical. The differences between them are body and interior styling. The 300’s have memory power seat options that are not available on the Charger or Magnum.
There are subtle stock differences, shocks and struts may be a different brand. If I compared my Charger against a 300c that also installed the same KW coil overs the ride would be indistinguishable.

The body style of a 300 is much bigger than a Charger. My friend and I went to Taco Bell in his 300 and he had a hard ass time driving through the drive-thru in his car I never have that problem in my Charger. He's thinking about getting rid of his 300 for a Charger.
