well i haven't done the nitrous install yet. doing a few other things first before i go that far.. i do wonder though, how the 5.7 holds up with the nitrous. would love to get a good exhaust system from front to rear before i do the nos. anyone have any suggestions on a good header/exhaust system that will go well with the zex nos i would appreciate the input...thanx

I would suggest A-Z.... AFE intake and Zoomers Exhaust then do the ZEX.... By changing your sparkplugs, you can run 125hp shot no prob all day long

well i'm running the k&n intake with the cowl induction hood right now. i guess i want a good header to put on the car and exhaust system. i'm running a set of 40 series flowmasters on it also... sounds good but sound doesn't equal horses..... did the esp mod and love that. have the module for the fans. the coolit mod that i need to put on as well... superchipped it with the flashpaq from superchips. running on performance tune 93 octane..kinda gives you and idea how she's runnin.

yea you can run the juice now and Superchips will retard the timing some. Look into Dynatech headers or Kooks

SuperChips retards timing?  SC has a tune for 87 and 91.  87 would be stock timing and 91 would advance the timing.  Help me understand how it retards timing other than going from a 91 tune to a 87 tune.

I wish that SC would publish what their tune actually did to timing

My bad, 89 being stock a 87 tune should retard timing. But it's never been disclosed by SC how much

On a stock lower end a 125 shot is pushing the limits.

Ignition Timing is a big part of how the motors makes power...The idea is to ignite the mixture a certain distance before the piston reaches the top of the cylinder in order to allow enough time to create pressure to force the piston back down in the bore without doing it too soon and causing the piston to fight its way to the top. Too little advance, or firing to late, will result in poor power and response because of the lack of pressure available to puch the piston down the cylinder at TDC.

With Nitrous added to the Air Fuel Mixture, your ability to burn the mixture as optimal as possible changes so retarding the timing is needed.

HPSRT had a good point on the spark plugs.  I'm running NGK Part# LZTR5A-13 which are are one step colder and gapped them to .35.

Yes, but remember on the first tune you must save the stock settings in order to return to that point.

Be aware it doesn't download the stock settings automatically, that is an option you have to select prior to programming changes.
