Today I noticed a sporadic ping after I turned off my 06 RT and got out of the car.  What is it?  I have Flowmaster 40's, K&N 63 series CAI and Superchips Flashpaq Performance Tune 91 Octane, Running with 93 Octane.  Have close to 30,000 miles on it.  Please HELP!

My first guess would be plugs or bad gas.

I am almost due for the 30,000 spark plug change.  I also recently filled up with some b.s. 10% Ethanol 93 Octane in VA Beach but by the time I noticed the sticker it was too late.

The Latest Super Chips update apparently lets you data log the engine ping sensor.  There were a lot of new interesting items available for data viewing also.  I have just updated this week, but I do not know how long it has been in there....

It is worth a shot.

Did the data logging: Knock Sensor 1 and 2 both measured volt range between .80 and 1.10, fluctuating.  I've also notice a whistling sound that is coinciding with the sound of my exhaust but sounds like its coming from the engine.  Any advice would be good advice, within reason...

On a side note about the above concerns of mine: every shop, dealer and fabricator in my area has refused to give me any help at all without first requiring my committment to some servicing on their part.  I feel like I'm getting jilted.  Why can't any of them give me some advice over the phone?

I'm thinking I need new plugs and there is a vacuum hose loose or some other kind of hose.  I'm getting it dyno'd tomorrow and they said they'd take a look at it then.  I was going to have it dyno'd anyways.  I will also be having the 30,000 mile scheduled maitenance done Monday, I think that should clean it up nice, real nice...

Problems Solved: Whistling was the air intake sucking in air.  As for the engine knock I was hearing, merely schizophrenic neurosis.
