I picked up my new Avenger on Wednesday the 27th.   I've had it almost a week now.  I like it more each day.  I didn't shop around too much before buying a car so I was worried I had made a wrong decision.  I originally was going to buy an 05 Magnum 8cyl but due to gas prices my dad talked me out of it.    So I had seen the new Avengers and thought they were a good price and good looking.  Right after I bought it however I wasn't as thrilled.  I think the rear end of the vehicle is pretty awful .. needs some rear ground effects.  I also didn't get a spoiler so that makes it look funny as well.  I wish I could have gotten Chrome rims, but that's not the end of the world.  I did get a good color in my opinion, the 18" rims, the convenience packages, and the mygig system.  So it's pretty well loaded on the inside.  I did opt out for leather as I'm not a fan of it in the first place.  I only had the option of 3 vehicles within 150 miles that had the nav system and the color I wanted so this one fit pretty well.  I have plans to add rally stripes in the near future and also tinting. Other than that there aren't many mods available as of yet.  But I will definitely be keeping my eyes open for things as they show up!  I had fun modding my last car and miss it terribly.  The dealership already sold it by Sunday.  So that was quick.  Anyhow I look forward to speakin to all the new Avenger owners and how everyone likes the vehicles.

That's great! I got mine two weeks ago and I have fun driving it.Is that your car in the picture? If it is it's nice. I have the Silver Steel metallic and I'll tell you it was hard picking out what color I liked. The pictures online don't really give the true colors. I'm thinking the same as you are with putting a spoiler on etc. There aren't many palce to buy anything for or cars yet lol That's drives me nuts.  Here's a link I found for spoilers. They don't have them yet, But the owner said to me $199.00 painted and shipped http://www.aftermarket-unlimited.com/shop/  You won't find them yet on there,He said it's going to be 6-8 weeks for him to get them. Here's another for graphics http://www.autotrimdesign.net/items_36402.html  Take a look at the color chart to see what the colors might look like. You can order samples too. Good luck with your car!!

Yep that's my car in my signature.  I didn't even think twice about the color I just knew I wanted that one.  I have always wanted a blue or white car and this blue was so pretty so I decided on it.

Good luck with yours!  I'm having transmission trouble already and have an appt to take it in Monday at 8am to have it checked.    Tonight I had to pull over and turn the car off and back on to be able to continue driving.  It had put itself in the wrong gear!

On other forums there are people who say there's a recall on an air polution part that causes your transmission to stick in a gear. I'll post later where I've seen it. I hope mine doesn't do that. Well if it does then it's covered anyway. Good luck with yours too. Here's one person with trouble http://www.****.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161991  Here's another http://www.allpar.com/forums/index.php?s=668c3008764eef34893d149225e80ce7&showtopic=93478

There is a recall. I got the letter in the mail. I had purchased a 2008 Avenger R/T  in march and just got this letter in the mail a week ago.... The two recalls were - Emissions recall G23 - Reprogram TIPM Operation (Transmission). The other was G12 - Latch kit for the doors and latches. I did notice before the recall was done that sometimes the shift point snaped into the next gear kinda hard sometimes, (R/T 3.5). Now that i brought it in to the service for the recall it shifts much smoother under all conditions. I know some people may be pist off like i was but its a new model car and even expensive luxury cars happens to as well. I did notice that they did take out the center consol part where the shifter/gears are, and when they put it back i noticed a little vibration noise from inside there, not to be alarmed i think they did not tighten it very good, but check everything when it leaves the service dept.

Thank you!~ Ive now drove it for 3 days with no more shifting problems since the recall. Also i did notice a bit more pep and shifting was much smoother as well since.

I do love this car!

I got the recall letter as well.
I hope to go into the dealer soon as time allows.

I will say I haven't noticed any issues with the shifting of the car, so I'm not sure if there's anything to fix.

Thanks. I'm just keeping track of who and what received a letter. I'm just curious. I bet that R/T really flies.

My guess is only cars April & before were affected?
My R/T AWD was built on May 9 & delivered on May 30th.
I have no problems @ all.

I have the SXT - 2.7 - Marathon Blue - loaded. I thought I was going to have to sale it - due to financial problems. Things have turned around and we are going to keep it. I wanted to let you all know that I had both recalls done on mine the door latch and the transmission re-programming deal. I got my car mid april too. All is great with the car - loving it.
