so I have spent a few minutes sending requests out to companies... but 1 guy isnt going to change the world. so I ask that anyone who reads this post, member or not please take 2 minutes and fill out the forms provided in these links... if we get enough people to send in requests, they will have to atleast notice us...
http://www.superchips.com/future_vehicles_wanted.php Superchips website... great tuners.
http://www.hypertech-inc.com/contact.html Hypertechs website, just fill out the form and send it...

I would love to get my hands on the 360. That'd be real nice to drop into our trucks, or even the Hemi.
Maybe, Dodge will allow us to up grade the engines with the same valves and heads as the new 4.7L. We'd probably have to upgrade the ECU too.

Hello,
I own a 2006 dodge dakota SLT quad cab. I have been searching for suspension components for over a year, and have yet to find anything that will work for my truck. I believe there is a decent sized market for newer dokata products. I am a member of dodgeforum.com and many of the members are looking for good suspension components. This email is sent as a request to consider this line of vehicles for future product development.
Thank you for taking the time to read this request.

For midsize trucks? Toyota maybe but the Ranger is getting ancient by now and the colorado/canyon are the ugliest trucks I've ever seen come out of GM... wtf [:@]
pro4x4
06-26-2007, 10:26 PM
The ranger is junk as far as I'm concerned and when I was shopping for a smaller truck the Dakota was the best one out there. I didn't like the colorado because of the crappy engine choices and I couldn't find a comfortable seating position in the toyota tacoma. My knees were wedged inbetween the seat and the steering wheel and I'm only 6 feet tall. I do admit though that when I was at the philly car show back in feburary I looked at the Nissan frontier and was very impressed with it. I thought all imports were the same as far as seating comfort but the nissan was much more roomier than the toyota.

I wish you luck, I really do, butI wouldn't hold my breath. The attitude of most aftermarket mfg. is that we Dakota owners don't exist. Case in point, Superchips. What a joke! They advertise on our website but have nothing for Gen3 Dakotas.I've e-mailed both manufacturers and online merchants till my fingers were ready fall off, and in most cases it's the same old responses: no plans to make available at this time, possibly not at all. WE have to collectivelySWAMP them with e-mails, phone calls and demand, beg, anything it would take give us what we want. We have to let them know there is a big demand.

Dodge don't derserve aftermarket parts. Whats the point. They are piece's of ****. They are overpriced, low quailty piece's of ****. Where I live, anyone who has a dodge, they have nothing but problems with it. One guy I know here, bought a new Dakota, not even 2 weeks of having it, the engine went on it. Like mine along with the tranny. I finally got it back and now the 4x4 is all screwed right up. They can't do nothing right. This truck has been nothing but a nightmare. And then fuel, I don't really wanna go there cause this is worse then a pig on gas and I have the V6. I hate to see what the V8 is like. It's so bad, I can't even get 200 km's outta a tank with this thing. And then just today, my alt goes on it again. This is the 2nd time. And no I don't have my system in it either. It's not worth it. Why would I put something like that into this thing when all it does is break down. If it wasn't for this truck being SO overpriced, I would have gotten my Ranger. Even Ford said thats too much for something that has no options. And thats not the only place either. GM, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi. Thats 6 different places. Like come on, theres better out there for lower prices and better quailty. So to make my finally statement, Dodge should just closes their doors cause they are not worthy of selling Piece Of **** vehicles.

An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_slang), is someone who intentionally posts controversial or contrary messages in an on-line community such as an on-line discussion forum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_forum) with the intention of baiting users into an argumentative response.
I'm not going to bother telling you all the spots you went wrong there. People already pointed out most of them on your last post anyway. It seems you have nothing positive to say in any of your posts here, at least try to make up something more believable next time...

Jet Chips 90403S (I believe)
72mm TB
4in TB spacer
Custom 3 1/2in catback with single in/dual out Flowmaster Super 40
JBL headers

I know this an old post but i still want this idiot to hear what I have to say if he is still around. Obviously not too overpriced because you bought it you idiot. I'm sure some salesmen came to your house with guns and coerced you into buying it. You and you alone are responsible for what you bought. Funny you are basing your opinion on what a few other people say and your own personal experience which is little. Not every car that rolls out of the factory is going to be perfect some will have flaws and I would say you just happened to have bad luck considering I have an 06 ST 3.7L with 30k on it and I have had zero problems with it. You deserve the crappy truck you got, they must have realized how much of an idiot you were and purposefully gave you lemon and I don't think that could have happened to a better candidate. "My truck sucks so I think I will pour a good thousand into it on a stereo." You sir are an idiot plain and simple. Until now I had yet to see anyone on hear that is an ass toward anyone else, the group of owners on here is a good bunch of people that would have gone out of their way to help you had you just informed us what was wrong with your truck. Go sell your Dak for some pos tonka toy ricer 4 cylinder manual found on roadside dead toy truck ranger have fun driving around in something that can't haul anything but two people and some groceries. You might as well buy a car.
Anyways thats my rant, I suspect this simpleton is long gone but I read this and it pissed me off so I tossed in my .02 cents regardless. [&:]

So its been awhile since i came here. Has the aftermarket for these trucks increased at all?? Last time i looked there was nothing more then little meaningless bolt ons. No tuner, no blower, no nothing.
You can get a Paxton supercharger from KRC performance.

I've been on a campaign to get someone to build a lift kit for the newer Dakotas as well, even before I found this forum. Here is what I received in reply from two of the companies I've contacted:
There is really two reasons why no one is offering this kit,one is the
demand. Two, 5-6 years ago when firestone tire had a recall on all
Dakotas for reason the truck would roll over if they got a blow out. So
you can see why all the manufactures in the industry where not racing
to
the dealer to start lifting Dakotas, who would want to deal with such a
liability. Hope this helps all Dakotas owner's understand why you do
not
see much if anything out there.

Thank you for your interest in Rancho products. Unfortunately we do
not
manufacture a suspension system for your vehicle because it would fit
too
few years and not enough people would buy it for us to make money on
it.
I don't know of any kit that you can modify and make it work on your
Dakota
and we do not manufacture any custom suspension lifts.

The first reply accusing Dodge of what was primarily a Ford Explorer issue was incorrect. I did research on the gsa.gov and nhsta websites and found only a recall for ball joints and an electrical issue with the A/C.
The second argument may have more validity because of the sharp drop in sales for the 2008 models, but in the prior year they sold more than Honda did with it's Ridgeline and yet I've seen after market stuff for those and only 10,000 trucks less than the Titan in 2007 which I've seen loads of stuff for. This says nothing of the overall decline in truck sales, which is no doubt going to curb demand for all models.

I also wrote to Chrysler customer service. They recommended I go to ChryslerListens.com (http://www.ChryslerListens.com) and submit my suggestion to them. What I suggested was manufactured parts should be offered by Dodge or the specs for them given to one of the lift companies, that matched the custom parts used in the concept MX Warrior Dakota. It's my firm belief that the Dakota doesn't get as much attention because of the lack of customization. The older models were customizable more than the 3rd gens and we can see the result in sales and owner retention of the older models. Kits don't drive sales, but they certainly influence many people when the buy their trucks because some would like to mod them, but would avoid them if they can't customize them like other brands or models.

thats a valid point, but dodge (OE in general) dont want parts competition. if someone makes shocls, then we dont have to buy mopar...
I doubt they would give the blueprints away...

Hello everyone new to the site. But definatly agree with the lack of aftermarket parts for are great trucks. I am curious to know the differences in engine capartment set up between the 07 3.7's and the 06 because alot of aftermarket parts out for the 4.7 06 and 07 are the same. Not only is there very little for the 4.7's but performance parts for 3.7's are almost no existent. I also have gone to links posted by the members here and have been doing alot of complaining myself as well.

Sent this to K&N,
To whom it may concern,
I own a 2007 Dodge Dakota 3.7L TRX4 "Off Road" Quad Cab. I am a bit disappointed by the lack of performance parts that your company make available for this vehicle. K&N in my book is the leading company in air intakes, filters, and other various products and I am unable to even choose your company for my performance needs. I just wanted you and your company made aware and that I am not the only one who feels this way dodgeforum.com has many dakota owners who all share the same disappointment of not being able to buy your products for our vehicles. I thank you for your time and hope to strike the senses of the company to produce an outstanding product as always for our vehicles.
Sincerely,
Joshua S. Reece

After market is great, BUT stay away from AIM INDUSTRIES. They also do business under several other names so be sure to check them out throughly. I purchused a lowering kit from them($800.00) and it has been a nightmare, AIM will do nothing about it. I now have over $3,000.00 invested installing and reinstalling defective parts they keep sending me. Anyone else have a problem with this compant?? If so please let me know. (jimbu@comcast.net)
Thanks. Jim

I've been a big fan of Air Ram ever since I saw their '02 Ram on youtube. Their prices are fantastic. Compare their performance parts and prices to KRC for example. KRC charges $849 for the 212 cams and Air Ram charges $390 with free shipping. I'm sticking with Air Ram...even for my CAI.

Hi guys, just joined up today. Looks like a cool forum, best I've seen for 3rd gen. Dakotas I think. I know we all wish Superchips or Hypertech or someone would come out with a tuner for the 3rd gen daks. but that could be awhile. I called Superchips the other day and here's what one of the tech guys said. They are starting to work on a tuner for the '08 Daks and when that one's done they will develop one for the 05-07's. He said look for one in about a year. Guess we'll see.
I am seriously thinking about sending in my PCM to B & G Chrysler for a flash. I talked to Dave at B&G today and he said no problem (350.00) 20-40 h.p at the wheels, better throttle response, etc. I have seen several comments from peops on other forums with 4.7's about B & G flashes, mostly good, some not so good but none with 3rd gen. 4.7's. Wondering if anyone here with a 3rd gen 4.7 has done a B&G flash or talked to someone who has. Thanks.

Hey guys I gotta tell ya I love my 06 Dakota but I am pissed that there are no aftermarket parts for these things. I want so bad to personalize my ride but there is not much out there to do that with. I like to go offroad with my truck and I would love to put a nice lift kit and some bigger tires on my truck I can't because they don't offer anything. Man you can't even buy aftermarket shocks for these things. If things don't change soon I will buy a Toyota for my next truck and I have been a Dodge man all my life I am 46 years old and have owned Chrysler products for 30 Years now. I feel really left out when all these Chevy,Ford, Nissan and Toyota guys are out having a ball with their trucks we are sitting on the sidelines as what cheerleaders? Give me a freakin break!!! Let us do what we want to our trucks or we will go somewhere else. Wake up Chrysler.

DO NOT buy from any company that has any connection to either Aim Industries or Airbagit. Here is a summery with my problems with the way they do business.
Problem: (Product Name: Lowering kit for a 2007 Dodge Dakota) The lowering kit is defective. When I make a hard left or right turn something comes in contact with the wheel rim and is chewing up the metal. My first contact to resolve the problem I was told that they knew what to do to correct the defect and would send the part shortly. The part came, was installed and did not correct the problem. The company now says it is not there problem and refuses to accept any responsibility. I am concerned as the structure of the wheels are being compromised due to the metal being chewed away every time I make a sharp turn. I have been over a year trying to get this resolved. Then other problems arose which I was sent 3 defective parts to correct.(They refused to send the parts unless I paid for them) I told them it was costing me big bucks to install there defective parts and to make sure the next one was not defective. It was still defective! Every time I would apply the brakes the front end would shutter terrible, when I would hit the smallest bump the front end would bottom out. I finally took off all there parts and had the suspension put back to stock and now have no problems. They refuse to pay my out of pocket expenses and told me to not call them again.

My only way to get them to pay is small claims court. My expenses exceed $3,000.00 and I live in calif. They are in Mesa Arizona! The small claims in that state is $2,500.00 Max. $2,500.00 + plane fair, eats, hotel room and time away from work does not make that feasiable. The struts they kept sending me I could pull out and push in with very little efort so I know they are defective! The pro's at the front end shop that did the installation told me the same thing. This company is BAD,BAD news.

Dude that sucks, I feel your pain. That's why I will never buy a mod without first doing a lot of research. If I research a mod that has maybe a 50-50 good/bad opinion from others that have bought it and it doesn't live up to my expectations, at least I can accept the fact that I kind of stuck my neck out by getting it. I'm sure there are plenty of companies out there that only care about getting the order, after that it's not their problem. These forums are a great place to research that stuff. Sounds like the bastards kind of have you by the short hairs.
