Hey guys, like the title says, I'm curious as to what performance mods I would need in order beat the 5.7 Hemi Ram. I have a 1999 Dakota R/T Club Cab with the 5.9 in it, with just a make shift intake on it. I was curious as to the mods I would need to beat one of these guys, both off the line and from a role. Any suggestions or packages that work with eachother (such as exhaust, intake, etc.) would be GREAT, thanks alot.

Well my uncle has a hemi ram and that is fast as hell ! I would say intake, full exhaust (headers back) , chip , and even some machine work on your heads

You're not much lighter, so you'll need a good 100 hp.
Nitrous, 4.56 gears, blower, 4" stroker rebuild, take your pick. I'd forget about the bolt ons and instead put your money towards stuff that really makes power.
Drop in a 472 HEMI-525 horsepower V8 crate motor, VAROOOOM hehe
That would be sick in a dakota! Eventhough I hear in 2008 they are re-modeling the Dakota with a possibility of a Hemi in it! That what I cant wait for.
Oh yeah. A huge head start and you might win!

yes rumors has started that they plan on releasing a SRT-8 Dakota in 09 maybe, ive also herd rumors that the Dakota line of trucks is going to get the boot.. so who knows.
All the newer dakotas will not be avaliable in Single Cab.. and thats a shame, a SC Srt-8 Dakota would pwnd like crazy..
