anybody see this or have any more info on it found this on th "nhtsa" website a few references to it on other sites, but not what it says, or even if it is a mistake.the mechanic in the next town over that i work for has the snap on shop key program and that does not even list it.
thats what I was thinking... more an more people are starting to notice vibrations while braking. Id say just call the dealer and have them check for TSBs on your vin...
I took my '05 in for brake vibrations (only 10,000 mi.). On the first visit, they replaced the "badly worn" front rotors for 200 bucks.
But the truck still vibrated when braking, so on the second visit they found a tsb (tsb 05-002-06) to replace the rear axles and rear brake shoes.
This made the vibrations go away, but I noticed that my brakes felt really soft after that....like I felt the pedal was going too close to the floor. Is this normal after getting brakes changed???
I have never had a vehicle go soft after changing brakes... I did however have a car that went soft because of a caliper leaking fluid and sucking air...
Does anybody know what years/VINs the axle TSB covers?
My truck vibrates bad under long, slow braking (think slowing down for a highway exit/entrance ramp). I havn't taken it yet to the dealer since it's got 17.5k on it, and I have a feeling they'll try the "brakes only up to 12k" thing before even trying to fix it.
