Default engine swap?

My 2.5 engine is dying in my 1993 dakota, My question is what are my options can i go to V6, and i already have a 2.2 dodge motor that look just like my motor will it work?

What're you looking to do with the truck? If you want it to be a daily driver, etc. Get another 2.5 from a Boneyard for cheap.

Can it be a car 2.5, or does it have to be a truck, and like i said early can i use the 2.2 engine i have? It came out of a 1988 shadow i think they look just alike.

If I remember from a post elsewhere, someone wanted to put a turboed 2.2 inspot of a 2.5. I believe the transmissions were different.

O okay, thanks even though my 2.2 is not a turbo and i probably will have the same problem.
Just thought i could use the motor since i had it thats all!
