Im trying to figure out how to use the u connect thing and see if i even have it can someone please help me i press the button and it says u connectnot available do i have to buy it or connect my phone?

It's blue tooth if you have a blue tooth phone then you need to connect the phone to the car first. When you press the button it will give to an option to pair the phone with the car. The phone will store the cars electronic signal and every time you want to use the u connect feature all you have to do is turn the blue tooth feature on on your phone and press the button on the car.

You can also train your voice to the car which is great. I just say the name I want to call. Did you avenger come with a manuel it's all in there.

i set my phone on blue tooth and nothing happens when i press the button im thinkin i dont have it but the manuel says you can buy the chip for it if you dont have it i guess ill see where i can purchase that!

Do u have "MyGig" Nav.?
If yes u have "Bluetooth".

Unless it's listed on your stickerin package or Nav.
Then u won't have it.

You need to pair the phone to the car. when you press the uconnect set up it will say PAIR A PHONE. Then you have to tell you phone to look for the device. It won't work by just turning the blue tooth on your phone on. You Phone needs to find the car and then save it.

Well if it says it's not available you have to go to the dealership to have them hook it up. They have to install something on the back of the radio to make it work.

Mine says not available only when my phone is not connected to it. When you push the phone button on the dash it gives you a list of options. One of those options is U CONNECT set up.


1.) First you need to hit the voice training feature.

2.) Train your voice to the car the woman comes over the speaker and tells you how to do this. They will make you pick a password as well.

3.) After your voice is trained you can select the features just by talking after the option is given and you here the tone.

4.) Go to your Cell phone and get into the blue tooth section first. There should be a section that says find device.

5.) Go to the dash and hit the u connect button and wait to here the options. It will say u connect set up. It will then ask what you want to do EG. MAKE A CALL / ADDRESS BOOK etc etc You want the option that says pair a phone. Say pair a phone when you here the tone and seach for the device with your cell phone. You phone should say FOUND U CONNECT.

If you have more trouble take i to the dealer and have them walk you through it. If it says not avaiable that meens there is no cell phone connected to the car. Mine says the same thing only when my phone is off or not connected.

I got my Avenger in late April. I went in May and ordered my U-Connect system and have not heard a word from the dealership on it.
I called over a month ago and they informed me that the option for purchase was not available yet.
They are supposed to call me when the part comes in. I still avent heard an update on this. Have any of you bought this option separately from the purchase of your new car? If so, I'd like to hear from you.
They say because it is a 2008 car that, they have no idea how long it will take to come in - not even a guestimate as to when it will be available.
I wonder how fast I can get my money back if I dont hear from them by the end if August? I have a blue-tooth ear piece, but really wanted this function so that I no longer have to connect everytime I try to use my phone for the first time each day.
I am wondering if them holding my money all this time is a normal practice.
If anyone knows anything about this - please inform me - right now, I'm a lady in waiting for my paid for in advance option.

I agree as mentioned above, if its not listed on your sticker, you probably dont have it.
Every new vehicle comes with a manual why wont anyone read it. There's very specific details on how to setup your bluetooth phone.

BTW.. I dont think you really need to train uconnect withyour voice. It is able to understand everyone of my commands from the factory settings, I think the trick is to speak clearly and consistantly and dont hesitate when saying numbers.
