I was wondering what kind of acceleration most of you get with pedal to the floor on your v6 3.9L. I have a Club Cab Dakota, with 31's and get about 18-19 seconds for 0-60mph. From a dead stop to finish. Does anyone know their time I want to compare. Also my truck is 4x4. I think this is a pretty slow time and I know it's not a racing truck but I think it should be a tad bit faster.
Edit:
I have so far done this to my vehicle, Spark Plugs, Spark cables, Rotor, Cap, Rebuilt Transmission, Removed Catconverted, cleaned upper portion of TB. Poured sea foam in the tank and through a vacuum. Engine idles pretty much fine, just a little bit of fluctuation in the RPMS at idle in PARK. Idle in Gear doesn't move.
timing off slack mabie the chain jumped?!?! idk that or compression?

Well I wouldn't nessesarily say that there is somthing rong with your truck, because it is slow. all the dakotas I have found are slow, except the v8. they are all prety slugish.

Idk what exactly mine gets because its a stick shift, when going for times, i usually dont shift until about 4 thousand rpms so im not quite for sure, and about the compression gauge, I race gokarts and the compression gauges for them are really cheap, look into getting one of those types of gauges and it'll save you some money. they work on anything
my v6 is in fine running condition and it takes about 13/14 seonds to get her from 0-60.. then again i have the kn fipk and i just recently did and exhaust so her numbers could of dropped but that significantly, hmm.. you probabally just need to reduce some weight to help
Well it's not loaded up or anything, nothing in there maybe a few extra pound but nothing major. I really don't know, I wish I had something to explain. It is strange I got 16 at one point, and recently got about 18.
the 31,s are killing you. open up the glove box and look to see if there is a sticker back there that has the rear ratio on it. you may have the 3.55. highway gears. also check your exhaust. you cat converter may be getting plugged causing the truck to be a dog. it may not throw a code but it could be plugged. as for my 05 4.7 i am looking at 8 to 9 seconds to hit 60. and thats with a cam kit spinning the tires everywhere
