How do these quick connect fittings disconnect?
|
best to purchase a quick connect tool, available at any parts store. you're trans line is probably 3/8. you can buy an individual size (1/4, 5/16, 3/8) or a kit with multiple sizes. they are not expensive, $3 or so for one, or $10-20 for a kit. the tool has 2 halves that surround the line, and then it slips down inside the quick connect fitting. once down in there, it spreads the fingers that hold it on. you can then pull the fitting off. tips.. spray the fitting with wd40 to free up any rust, mud. if it doesn't release, push in a little more and twist the tool back and forth.
ps. its also called a fuel line disconnect.
