Default ABS and Brake Lights On

I give up. I have an 02 with the ABS and Brake Light issue. My cruise control won't work, but my speedo works fine. The ABS and Brake lights will only come on when I get near 60km/h. I have replaced the rear speed sensor and of course, no change except I'm $50 poorer.

Anyone know what I should be looking for? What's with the cruise control if my speedo works?

Thanks

need more info on the truck, what motor, 2wd 4wd?, have you put bigger tires on? etc.

brake light usually comes on when you are low on fluid, ABS controller may be going bad

and theres more then one speed sensor on the truck........just fyi

It has a 4.7L and is 4wd. I know there are two sensors up front, but I didn't want to replace them until I knew for sure. I read some where that you can ohm them but I thought with my symptoms that someone would know something that I don't. It's strange that everytime the truck hits 60km/h,both lights come on.

Does the lack of cruise control indicate one or the other?

No it will not cause the ABS lite to go on, The servo maybe on the passager side under the hood or under the battery.

After all the BS it was the brake light switch!!![:@]Gave symptoms of the rear speed senors but I guess the fact that I had my speedo working correctly and that the ABS and Brake light went on exactly at 40mph every time, maybe it'sa signalof a faulty brake light swtich. (My brake lights did work though. I worked the switch in and out with my hand a couple times and after a road test Irealized I had found my problem.

Cruise works again! and ABS/Brake lights are gone. I hope this saves the next guy some grief.

Default RE: ABS and Brake Lights On

I had my ABS light and Brake light on and it turned out my problem was a main relay fault and the ABS Module had to be replaced. Dodge wanted $400 plu labor, I got it at a local salvage yard for $37 and problem solved. With my symptoms there was no pattern as to when the ABS and Brake light would come one besides the fact that sometimes they would be on when I start it and other then wouldn't.

I am having the same problem and I posted in another part here. I got my car back after an Accident. $7K of body damage in the front. Take it and the ABS/Brake light comes on after 20 miles. Both CV outer boots are ripped. Grease over everything.
I have it fixed. Clean the sensors and replace the pads cut the rotors. No change. Light comes on 2 seconds after car is started. Left Battery disconnected overnight. Had a OBDII attached. No codes and I cleared it anyway two times.
The lights come on. It feels like I have ABS when I stand on the brake it feels like it pulses like they are working. I have no idea what is going on.
