deerang 05-20-2007, 01:25 AM stock everything except Flowmaster Super 40
Mean Green 05-20-2007, 02:16 AM Stock except for FM original 40. I'm louder than you Dee. [8D]
jonnymagnum 05-20-2007, 03:21 AM magnaflow highflow cat, single in dual out 2.5" magnaflow 18" muffler with two 3.5" tips.... I'm louder then all of you[sm=smarty.gif]
Mean Green 05-20-2007, 04:13 AM Maybe....
deerang 05-20-2007, 12:39 PM touche salesman.....
and johnny, I've never found magnaflows to be very audible, I really don't know if you'd be louder than Green..... I'd have to hear a really loud magnaflow before I could give you the win
hydrashocker 05-20-2007, 05:21 PM Mangna Flow is a quieter muffler than Flow Master. But I like the sound of Magna Flow. It has a good low grunt and it doesn't sound so high pitched.
I have a Magna Flow cat back 3" with a 22" muffler. I like a nice sound but I don't like to wake everyone up when starting my beast.
Mean Green 05-20-2007, 05:53 PM I' don't start my D until 10:30 am and usually don't go out past 10:00 pm so I don't wake too many people up. ;)
I need to get a sound or video clip of my exhaust and since my mother supposedly mailed my camcorder back to me it should be soon. :D
cesspool 05-20-2007, 06:08 PM Would it be a bad thing to remove the Cat when I get a new exhaust, seeing as to how we no longer have emission control in ohio....
cesspool 05-20-2007, 06:14 PM oh and any of you guys have headers?
Mean Green 05-20-2007, 11:55 PM Cess you may get a CEL if you gut or remove the cat...
IndyDurango 05-21-2007, 12:37 AM PPH Headers, 5.9L, Stock CAT, Flowmaster Series 50 SUV, Chrome tip
IndyDurango
cesspool 05-21-2007, 01:13 AM CEL is bad I'm guessing? I have no idea what it stands for...
So keep the cats....
IndyDurango 05-21-2007, 02:33 AM Yes you have to keep the cats. Our stock cats are very good anyways. I wouldn't repalce one with anything other than another stocker if it was ever needed.

projecteclipse9 05-21-2007, 05:47 AM I just ordered my headers i got hedmen headers 1 5/8 primary and i think it was 2.5 or 3in collector. I think they will be pretty bad ass.
projecteclipse9 05-21-2007, 05:47 AM i will try and get a sound clip when i get them on i will have a custom y pipe and no cat with a super 40 flowmaster
Mean Green 05-21-2007, 07:45 AM Project the original is louder there is an extra baffle in the super 40.
Cess CEL iss check engine light and your o2 will lean out the fuel because without the cat the excess will not be burned off and the o2 will read it as if the engine is running rich.
chemoman 05-21-2007, 05:22 PM Do these work? http://www.thefastman.com/02Simms.asp
deerang 05-21-2007, 10:29 PM I start work at 530am weekdays, 5am weekends, so I definately wake everybody up when I leave.....o well, no neighbours have complained yet, and they like to complain about a lot of things

Not just directed at Hydrashocker, but is this what you have: 7962055448 item number on EBAY.
It says catback exhaust, but that doesn't mean it has the cat also does it? This pretty much just goes from the end of teh cat to the tip of the exhaust, right? So I would need an cat also?
cesspool 05-21-2007, 10:36 PM and what about this cat:

cesspool 05-21-2007, 10:46 PM what about these headers:
170114166214http://pics.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/globalAssets/rtCurve.gif or
330121759566http://pics.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/globalAssets/rtCurve.gif or
200111035941http://pics.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/globalAssets/rtCurve.gifI want to replace everything as far as the exhaust goes.
Mean Green 05-21-2007, 11:06 PM Yes it is after the cat so if you do want aftermarket you will have to get the cat as well. If I were you I would just use the stock pipes since they flow really well already and will not rot out for the life of the truck and why throw all that extra $ away on it just to get rid of the surface rust that isn't going any further.
As for the o2 sims I'm sure they would work fine I forgot about telling you about them.

So they could just take the old muffler/cat off and replace them only? I was unaware of that. I though things would have to be cut.
o2 sims? what is this?
Thanks!
Mean Green 05-22-2007, 02:51 AM Post #17 has a link for o2 sims they make the PCM think you are running clean. As long as you don't have a sniffer test then have at it.
A muffler shop would have to cut the muffler and cat off and weld new ones in and it might be smart for you to see how much it would cost to buy your muffler and cat from a shop than to just buy one from summit and pay labor out. I got mine from a shop here in Reno for $125 installed.
orlandozfreak 05-23-2007, 03:20 AM i still think i'm louder, the CBT2 doesn't really muffler as mush as even the pulses, it sounds like straight pipes
Lil Red Mopar 05-30-2007, 01:36 AM I just ordered a Flowmaster Force II Single 3 inch Rear Exit Aluminized Steel Cat-Back System With 3inch Stainless Tip, it ships on 6/3 , this coupled with the AEM BRUTE FORCE cold air intake with TB spacer I installed should add volume , if not I'll just put a FM outlaw series on it and watch the neighbors ears bleed !:D
Kensai 05-30-2007, 02:18 PM Just curious, what equilivent model of flowmaster or mangaflow mufflers would give the same similar sound and decibels as the OEM muffler that is on the R/T? I want to change mine out and go with a split single in and dual out configurations. However, I do not want to advertise to everyone especially to the guys in blue to know where I am at when I stomp on the gas. But I do like to have the same similar sound as the OEM muffler that is on my R/T.
Mean Green 05-30-2007, 03:08 PM Ken I'd say probably a 50 series fm. hit up fm website and listen to the sound clips.
cesspool 05-30-2007, 08:15 PM AEM BRUTE FORCE cold air intake with TB spacer
where can I get one of these? Are they direct replacements, i.e... no glithces with the cpu because it's aftermarket?
