Project the original is louder there is an extra baffle in the super 40.

Cess CEL iss check engine light and your o2 will lean out the fuel because without the cat the excess will not be burned off and the o2 will read it as if the engine is running rich.

Mangna Flow is a quieter muffler than Flow Master. But I like the sound of Magna Flow. It has a good low grunt and it doesn't sound so high pitched.

I have a Magna Flow cat back 3" with a 22" muffler. I like a nice sound but I don't like to wake everyone up when starting my beast.

Not just directed at Hydrashocker, but is this what you have:  7962055448  item number on EBAY.
It says catback exhaust, but that doesn't mean it has the cat also does it?  This pretty much just goes from the end of teh cat to the tip of the exhaust, right?  So I would need an cat also?

Yes it is after the cat so if you do want aftermarket you will have to get the cat as well. If I were you I would just use the stock pipes since they flow really well already and will not rot out for the life of the truck and why throw all that extra $ away on it just to get rid of the surface rust that isn't going any further.

As for the o2 sims I'm sure they would work fine I forgot about telling you about them.

So they could just take the old muffler/cat off and replace them only? I was unaware of that.  I though things would have to be cut.

o2 sims?  what is this?

Thanks!

Post #17 has a link for o2 sims they make the PCM think you are running clean. As long as you don't have a sniffer test then have at it.

A muffler shop would have to cut the muffler and cat off and weld new ones in and it might be smart for you to see how much it would cost to buy your muffler and cat from a shop than to just buy one from summit and pay labor out. I got mine from a shop here in Reno for $125 installed.

I just ordered a Flowmaster Force II Single 3 inch Rear Exit Aluminized Steel Cat-Back System With 3inch Stainless Tip, it ships on 6/3 , this coupled with the AEM BRUTE FORCE cold air intake with TB spacer I installed should add volume , if not I'll just put a FM outlaw series on it and watch the neighbors ears bleed !

Just curious, what equilivent model of flowmaster or mangaflow mufflers would give the same similar sound and decibels as the OEM muffler that is on the R/T?    I want to change mine out and go with a split single in and dual out configurations.  However, I do not want to advertise to everyone especially to the guys in blue to know where I am at when I stomp on the gas.  But I do like to have the same similar sound as the OEM muffler that is on my R/T.

where can I get one of these?  Are they direct replacements, i.e... no glithces with the cpu because it's aftermarket?
