1st, when I put the car in park and then engage the parking brake, the car always moves a little bit, even on flat pavement.  Anyone else have this issue?

2nd, if we have the 3-year bumper to bumper warranty, DO they need to do something about the rubbing from the trunk?  When we first noticed it, we took it in and they did something, but the rubbing is still going on and is an EYESORE...arrgghh!  When I was in about the 3rd item below, they said they couldn't do anything about it.  Since we have flat black hood and side graphics, we thought maybe we could have a flat black strip cut to the measurement of that whole area and have it put there to hide the rubbing, but we don't want to spend the $$ if the trunk will just ruin it too.  I am hoping that they need to fix the problem.

3rd, we added the illuminated doorsills and they didn't know they needed to have the doors raised and the sills have been scratched (some deeply) from it.  They took my car to an autobody place they work with and had the doors lifted at no charge to me, but the sills are still scratched...should they have to replace them or am I stuck with them?

Thank you for any input b/c I want to go well informed when I talk about these issues with them.  I really don't want to make the dealership mad at me b/c of these issues b/c they give me all my parts at their price and are fair about the labor costs, but I don't want them to say they can't, when they should.

First off, welcome to the forum. Now I can't give you any advice for your 2nd issue, but I will say that my charger does also roll a bit after I put it in park, and am also curious as to why it does that too. I'd like to see who else has this issue. As for the sills, I think you're pretty much stuck with scratched up sills. Just think of them as being "broken in".

Anybody else with the park issue?

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the roll problem.  I try not to park near where other people park, ie: close to the entrances of stores, malls, etc b/c I don't want them to park so close they can be rude and open their door into my car and somehow rub the back quarter panel...which still has happened, but I don't want to be responsible for my car to "roll" into another car too.

So thank you for  letting me know you have the same issue.

About the door sills, at the dealer I go to, we were the first to have them installed and since they hadn't done it before, the installer wasn't thrilled that it wasn't easy at all, but knew what to expect when others got them.  The dealer also got the complaints from others about the scratches and that's why they knew when I went in that they had to lift the doors, so I'm hoping if they can't replace them, that if I find an alternative, they'll help get it fixed.  I'll keep my fingers crossed and try not to hold my breath though.  :)

1. When I park I do a bit extra so I don't get clunks when parking on inclines.  Put the car in Neutral press the parking brake and then bump it to park. My driveway is slanted so I’ve done this so much its second nature and I do it on flat surfaces.

When I go to work this morning I’ll park w/o using the Neutral-Brake-Park routine and will let you know what happens.

2. About trunk bumper scratches… The dealer should take care of trunk rubbing issues and any paint damage from that. It’s been an issue with these cars since day one.

3. On the door sills, since the dealer installed them they should step-up and take care of any issues that would arise from the installation.  If the sills can’t be repaired they should be replaced.  Normally the main reasons in having the dealership perform work and paying exorbitant prices is having them accountable for their work and staying within warranty.

Mine rolls some after applying the parking brake also.  I just live with it.

There is something that can be done about the trunk rubbing - there are two rubber bumper stops - one on each corner.  Turn them around 180 degrees.  You can do it with a pair of pliers, or have your dealer do it.  i've done it, but haven't paid much attention as to whether is cured the problem or not. I'll have to look to night to see.

As for the door sills, since they raised the doors, didn't that throw off the fit at the top?  Just curious about that.

hi dave.  when they told me about it, the service guy showed how the front doors were slightly "lower" than the back doors and when it came back from the autobody place, the doors were even on the top...weird, but true.

Thanks for the advice on engaging the parking brake first.  It totally worked on flat surface and just a very small amount of roll on our incline, not as much as it did before.  Yay!

You all are awesome with info.

Thanks,
Daisy

Just came from the dealer and talked to our service guy about what they supposedly had done for 2 hours about the trunk plugs and he looked in our file of work done and ofcourse whomever worked on it didn't record anything about what they did, so the service guy asked me to bring in a copy of the forum about turning them 180 degrees or putting bigger plugs there.

He said he also still needs to talk to the big guy (owner?) about getting my door sills replaced.  I'm going to have to start stopping by to make sure he doesn't forget.   : )

I might become a pain, but my first car show and poker run is in 19 days now and something especially needs to be done about the trunk rubs.

Thanks,
Daisy
