I just had my tires rotated on Monday, and now I have an crappy shimmy to my car every time I apply the brakes!  Did anyone else have this problem?  Do you think they just rotated the tires and not balanced them?  If I go and have the tires balanced does anyone think that will make a difference?

Dave I know you had a problem similar to this but can't find that thread.

Thanks all,
Mike

sounds like brake rotors warped     u had a shimmy from the tires and rotors  u never noticed the rotors untill the tires were fixed.

I have the same problem on my new R/T and am taking it back to the dealer to fix.  I feel it more under hard braking from 40+ mph.

That's also about when I feel it.  I was hoping that the tires were wore and used to being on the tires they were on...and when they were rotated they weren't balanced or what have ya.  I'm hoping my rotors aren't warped like Dodge Tech says...I'm sure that could be a pretty penny.  But on that same note, the warranty should cover it right?!?!  I hope.

nope  rotors and brakes are a maintance thing. If u just replaced the tires i would say u have around 30k miles and thats about when brakes are low. Brakes are only used when u apply them  the tires spin all the time the car is in motion so not a chance the tires are a shimmy when u apply the brakes sorry

No I didn't "replace" the tires, I just had them rotated.  I have 10,200 miles on the car.  I hope the brakes and tires will last a little longer than that!

Could just be wear pattern on the tires from switching from back to front.  Warped rotors would have raised their ugly heads no matter if you had your tires rotated or not since the rotors stay put.  Having said that, I would still have them checked out - can't hurt.  You might also have them check the wear pattern on the tires.  Since these cars do have alignment adjustable for both front AND rear tires, could be one or the other is out, causing the above-mentioned wear patterns, and the tires needing to "adjust" to the new wear patterns.
