ok so I finally replaced my pre-cat 02 sensor. Had a hell of a time may I add. I figured out the connection piece of the new 02 sensor was wrong, so I had to swap the connection piece from the old 02 sensor to the new one. So anyway, as I did...I realized I made a boo-boo. Sicne there are 2 wires of the same color...I didn't check to make sure which goes where, but I made some kind of a guess and I hope it's right. Does anyone know what those wires are for btw? Anyways...so I connect it all and start up the truck. All seems fine...no check engine light at idle, so I go take a drive. About 3 miles in...the check engine light finally came on. First I tried to check the code with the truck, but it wouldn't list any codes. So I pull out my OBDII scanner and I find that the code is "02 sensor circuit high volts (bank 1 sensor 1)" What does this mean?

RE: 02 sensor threw a code
what your saying is..
you cut the harness off the old o2 and matched it up with the new one and plugged it into the factory harness, where the wires of the same color GREY or BLACK, or an Orangish? but anyways useally the same color wires are just grounds....
o2 sensor voltage is very low.. you splicing/cuting the wires would of messed up the flow oc circut.. the sensor wire only sends about .5-1.5volt (i think) its in your manual check it, but my point is.. if you didnt crimp/connect the wires back perfect you can get a bad connection, try suadering the wires together and then heat srink wrap them and over that add some electrical tape and zip it away from your exhuast pipe, useally behind the frame.

electrical tape is not a perminant solution, water might not get in right away, but I guarantee after acouple months it will I would use heat shrink wrap. then water will never get in.
lol, yea idk if this thing is actually improving anything. I'm approaching 50 miles at the first 1/4 tank. That's...not very good. Was I supposed to reset the computer or something?
