Default SRT-4 exhaust on my SXT

Hey guys the members on the neon forum told me to ask you if there is anybody selling their stock SRT-4 dual exit exhaust. I am trying to find a more powerful exhaust system and I am either going to go with the neon R/T or SRT-4 exhaust. I am not exactly sure how buying a SRT-4 exhaust would work since I need the piping to fit to my stock cat, so I would basically be making an SRT-4 cat-back for my SXT. So if anybody is interested in selling their stock SRT-4 exhaust let me know!

correct me if im wrong, but the stock exhaust is 2.25 all the way back to the muffler, so just an R/T setup would be a good way to go. also, the SRT exhausts can be picked up for a reasonable price these days. the only issue might be fittment under the sxt bumper, as it will rest on the tailpipes (like my 01 bumper does) you might be able to hang it a little lower to clear though.you would need to customize it if you want to keep your cat, as the SRT has no cat. perhaps you could go from the downpipe back with the SRT exhaust. it does have resonater on it, but now cat. are you looking for better flow or just a better sound? with the srt exhaust on the sxt youll either love it or hate it. I would honestly reccomend the R/T exhuast on an otherwise stock sxt.

I had a srt exhaust on for 2 yrs and a yr and half with a glass pack installed to tame her down . I havent custom done my rear bumper fits perfect and no melting or did I have to make holes and I just used the catback with dual tips at first now Im running with a glasspack . Im lookin around for you and its very rare to find a cheap r/t dual exhaust plus it has a pretty boring sound to it . I would highly recommend the srt exhaust over the r/t since I had that to begin with .

Stock, the SXT, R/T, and SRT-4 all have 2.25" diameter midpipes, however, the SXT and SRT-4 tapers down to 1 7/8" at the end of the mipipe, while the R/T's tapers down to 2 1/8"...the SXT has no resonator, while the SRT has two, and the R/T only has one resonator. Since when does an SRT-4 not have a catalyctic converter? So if you want the best flow for the SXT a full R/T exhaust is the way to go...

My r/t exhaust had a muffler not a resnator like the srt4 did and for the price and looks the srt exhaust is way better and the sound is awesome even without a glasspack. Most that have the srt exhaust on there sxts run it with just the resnators . You wont find a r/t exhaust cheap trust me . Very rare to find one like I did for 80bucks shipped off of ebay. Again havin both on my sxt I would strongly pick the srt over the r/t anyday.

Really? I thought all vehicles had to have a cat these days...I knew they didnt have a muffler, only the resonators...

Here are pics of the two midpipes...the R/T is on top, and the SRT is on the bottom...

Yes, you can find an SRT-4 rear section and even full exhaust for much cheaper, and it may be louder also, but if your looking at peformance an R/T catback is better then the SRT catback...

Well for performance wise the srt exhaust has done pretty well for my sxt better than the r/t did for my sxt . So Im love the srt exhaust better than my old r/t and looks way cooler also. Tips are a bit bigger than the r/ts .

The stock SRT exhaust DOES have a cat in the down pipe. One cat, two resonators.Just replaced mine. There is a guy local that wants to buy it off me for $300, but he has yet to come up with the dough, so I have one if you want it. Let me know.... I have the O2 housing back....
