Default Dakota or Tundra?

I'm looking at a 2000 Dakota quad cab with 95k with the v6. The guys asking $7500. butI think he'll take seven. It looks pretty nice. Is the gas milege that bad? And how many trouble free miles will these go? It's either this ora Toyota Tundra V8 for 10k.
Thx!

Toyotas are also known from being from the country who sneak attacked us at Pearl Harbor. They're also known for being junk.

Buy American, go with the Dodge. You're local worker in an auto plant thanks you.

Personally, i would go with the Dodge. I dont know that i would go with THAT dodge. Seems like you could find something with a few less miles for that kinda money. I got my 2003 4.7 for $10 k. Allthough the imports are known for thier longevity and dependability, i would still buy American!!

Personally, I think that Dodge is a bit high in price...a friend of mine just sold his 2000 Dakota R/T for about that same price, if not a little less...and that thing was loaded...tons of engine mods, custom stereo, etc...and you're paying the same for a V6. You can get something newer for the same or a bit more.

The older generation Tundras are nice (pre-2007). They're a good bit bigger than the Gen II Dakotas, but the V8 makes up for it. I almost bought one instead of my Dakota, but they wouldn't move on the price. How are the miles on the Tundra?

I would look around for a V8 Dakota. I myself am not a big fan of Toyota Trucks. Stick with American made.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA

So what. Big fat hairy deal, as Garfield would say. Perhaps we should boycott the British because they taxed our tea hundreds of years ago and caused a war, nevermind that they're our allies now.

The quad cab Dakotas are made here in the USA, but other Dakotas are made in MEXICO. Remember the Alamo!!!

Oh, yeah, and another thing. The profits of buying a (new) Dakota go to GERMANY. You do remember what they were doing in the 1940s, right?

Oh, but let's not forget we're talking about buying a used truck here, and the money is going to go into some American's pocket directly.

And another thing.... lest we forget - TUNDRAS ARE BUILT IN THE USA BY AMERICAN FACTORY WORKERS. There really is NO difference to the common man between buying a Tundra or buying a quad cab dakota - built in the USA and the profits go to foreign soil.

Oh, I completely forgot to address the OP - I'd pass on the v6 quad cab. They're heavy and the 6 will be burdened moving it around. Fuel economy won't be much better than a 4.7 if any at all.

its all personal choice.. i was talking to a tow truck driver yesterday, i was asking him about the dakotas and most of the tows for the daks are just cause of a flat tire no spare deal... but he was telling me toyota is #1 on being towed, since its the most common car out there but from what he told me.. dakota is #1 in my eyes.... btw i have a Club cab built in warren michigan plant [sm=usa.gif]
