Will be making brackets for Wilwood calipers
I've got a set of Wilwood 6 piston calipers coming that I'm going to adapt to the Durango's front rotors. Since nobody else makes a BBK for the Gen II Durango (the torsion bars mean you can't use Ram stuff), wellthat was incentive enough for me to make my own brackets. Wilwood does make a 6 piston caliper for "forward" mounting (in front of the hub). I've installed Wilwood brakes on a few other vehicles, my BMW is running 4 piston Dynalites with 13" rotors with alloy hubs (BMW refuses to use alloy 4/6 piston calipers, preferring to stick with ugly sliding-piston calipers). Since the Durango rotor is 13.4", I'm going to use the stock rotor, although I might switch to a drilled/slotted rotor for looks.
If anyone is interested in this front brake set-up, let me know and I'll make a set of brackets for you while I make mine. I'll also make a set of SS brake hoses if you want them. The brackets and hoses will cost you under $300, maybe less. The calipers and pads are around $800 from Summit. A set of drilled/slotted rotors will by under $200, so your total cost would be around $1300 ($1100 if you stick with your stock rotors), not bad for a bad-ass 6 piston Wilwood set-up that bolts on.
NOTE: this set-up will NOT affect your ABS or your ESC (stability control).
